When 1 is a number and 2 is a number, 1 does not become equal to 2. When cow was wealth and women were wealth, women do not become equal to cows.

Glad to know you don't object. Indian knowledge was transferred by the medium of shrota (hearing). Unlike the Egyptians or Chinese who used to write since ancient times, we preferred speaking instead (one of the reasons Chinese words are characters is because they've basically continued their ancient writing system in modified form). For us, scripts like Devanagari are comparatively a very recent invention. As a result, at some point of time, few men became the sole owners of all our knowledge. And they taught other few men, and so on.

In this entire process, among other things, most of our knowledge gained a patriarchical perspective.

Think of this as one of several attempts to reset that perspective.

Acharya Sayan commentary is that the vedas can be acquired if are undertook upanayana. Therefore, in the Rigvedic age, since women undertook upanayana, they were entitled to the vedas.

Artha ya icched duhitā me paṇditā jāyeta. sarbamāyuriyāditi tilaudanaṃ pācayitvā sarpiṣmantamaślīyātāṃ.

Bṛhadāraṇyak upaniṣad 6/4/17

According to the Upanishads, an educated daughter was as desirable to her parents as an educated son.

You still are not giving citations where women's education and rights were a universal thing. Which is what I asked for. Some women were *allowed.* If their parents or husband were liberal enough.

What you're saying is the same as saying Indira Gandhi became PM, so women are treated equally in India.
