Yes it is the repetitive rejection - direct and indirect that has left him devastated .. Earlier he was rejected brutally & insulted for being from a lower class .. And now he got rejected because she chose (not exactly) Sikander over him .. So everytime he has come across her, it has only given him pain .. and now at this stage he fears her presence because it only gives him pain in some form or the other .. That leaves him restless .. Her presence doesnt give him peace

But then her staying with him also gives him hope of her staying in his vicinity longer .. her mere presence gives that relief of having seen her .. So when she says she is leaving, he has the feeling that something of his (his soul) is being taken away from him ..

Its a very contradictory feeling .. very hard to explain .. even those experiencing it cannot explain it ..

I am not angry at her, she confessed at least, it was necessary for her to tell him the truth, rest, about blackmail, well Farhad has given her enough right on hi to demand a promise, so she did, that is how soulmates behave, yes it was selfish, but from her POV, she wants to get rid of her guilt, at least someone will be in peace if that actually gives her peace.

Yes they r indeed dev - chandrmukhi but in different manner & i justt love this bond .romna couldnot stop herself to think about farhad since she saw him in train .& the bond develop so beautifully .can i say HN did a fantastic job here to show man & woman can have these type bond which is above love & friendship .i must say atleast me i never saw or read this kind of bond in any story i only know love or friendship btwn man & woman .i just love them
