I loved her little banter with Sourab and Sona, and her equation with the rest of the Boses. Her dating around, and just casually fooling around was so fun to watch, but omg post marriage? First of all, what did she even see in Vicky? He stalked her for a bit, and then she fell in love with him? At what point did that even happen? Including some weirdo kidnap incident, that track was so random.

Even after her eloping and marrying him, she still had some sense of character, and the Bose sisters being together was treat enough. But post leap Elena with the same weird patiala and kurta outfit in 3 colours is the Rainbow Dev of season 1. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Just walking around giving stupid advice and singing bhajans about Dev Bhai. How unfortunate what they did to her character, the fun, smiley, badass Elena.

Thank you!😊

I was really upset by the way they destroyed Elena's character also. It was my personal opinion that perhaps they didn't know what to do with the actress and she had to be inserted into the story and Vicky was right there, available, so they simply coupled them up. It was so stupid. The guy had started off eve-teasing her with his friends and she eloped with him!. I really think the entertainment industry needs to stop glorifying these interactions, like guy eve-teasing girl, as the first step towards love and happily ever-afters.

Post leap, she was what, I don't understand. Dev took care of Golu, went to PTA meetings in his school, the school called Dev when Golu got into trouble. What were Vicky-Elena doing? Elena was mostly home, if she wasn't on a photography assignment. But she wasn't shown to be that involved with Golu! Vicky was pretty much useless, so I won't bring him here, though he should be accountable too. But Elena? What a mess that her character became.

Neha wanted to be bitter always

She was growing unhappy about every thing

Dev also studied really well never enjoyed he worked for all of them , never even thought about getting a. girl friend

but when Devakshi married how jealous Neha became, never loved or respected Sona ( where as Nikki & Riya love Sons esp Nikki)

I really liked Nikki a lot

Ishwari the person had many flaws yes and that's understandable too. I'm talking about her as a mother which wae her biggest failure . She was patriarchal and didn't love her daughters enough , okay ! But was she a great mother to Dev, I don't think so.

She tried to provide the best to Dev even when life was hard for her . That's the struggle that most middle class parents in our country have to go through . Not demeaning her struggle , but she chose to glorify her struggles , glorify herself, gloat about it and suffocate Dev with it . So much that the man couldn't sleep without 6he help of pills . What kind of mother does it make her when she is not perceptive enough to know what her Children are facing !

Dev and Neha were more her parents than she was to them. Bijoy and Asha may not have been that well off either and may have had their struggles to provide Sona and Saurabh with what they did . But they also made sure that they have the back of both their children through life . Ishwari could never be that support to any of her children because she's more of a liability than support!

I disagree. From how I personally saw it, Dev, Ishwari & Neha struggled equally until Dev made it big. Like someone said, Ishwari did not have the option of sending two kids to school at that point so she sent Dev (he was brighter & he was a boy & her own bias probably) & she had to work all day to make ends meet so Neha ended up bearing the brunt and taking care of the kids. Dev had to study well (under insane amount of pressure), do so many side jobs for hours after school (newspaper delivery was just one of them) & also help his mother. During that accident sequence, Dev had mentioned how they struggled to even have food on many days & he was also bullied at school for wearing tattered clothes. Ishwari on the other hand must have had her own share of struggles while working as a maid (for example, her character was questioned because she wore a tattered blouse to work & then fired). Neha of course must have hated not going to school & also had to take care of her sisters at a young age. All three struggled & it's obvious you can't forget it soon. Yes there are ppl who go through even more horrible stuff in the world but for everyone, their own struggles are a big deal.

Also, I think Dev has acknowledged how much Neha suffered multiple times. Even when Neha got married, Dev told Sona he feels he hasn't done enough for Neha. He has also given in to all her demands (even unfair ones like forcing Ranveer to take the job or buy him a flat).

The problem was that they never tried to come out of it & be happy. Whenever Dev tried, Ishwari pulled him back by guilt tripping him about it. For example, when Dev & Sona were supposed to go for the honeymoon, Ishwari almost fainted and then told him how he is so happy in his life that he forgot how Neha who sacrificed so much for him, is unhappy. And that's all it took for him to cancel the honeymoon. With Neha again, they could have shown how she finally found happiness in Ranveer (even without a child) & that could have been good enough but they dropped that track in btw. Anyway, IMO, all three suffered but Ishwari's bias messed up both the kids in different ways & she also suffered in the process

I never said they didn't struggle. But why crib so much. Devish always cry thinking about their struggle. Just think about sister's, they must b cursing to born in that house to feel they were under devish favour.

Also my point was neha struggle weighed much more than dev. Imagine dev had to live neha's life(taking care toddler sister, feeding, potty cleaning). Then probably he wouldn't hv been alive. Long back he must hv committed scuicide. In s1 n s2 never heard dev was doing part time job. Looks like cvs read our comments inserted dialogue of paper distributing.😆. (If dev was doing part time, esh don't hv to steal bangles). So much inconsistency in writing. Since dev is hero of the show, cvs keep stressing on his difficulties which is not much as it is exaggerated. Think he is crying bcoz he did not get good dress as other children in school, where as neha didnot had life like other children. Despite her sacrifices, dev was treated as Prince at home(he didn't knew to fold karcheif). But still dev had difficult child hood😆

But my question why they didn't make good memories. Why they were not happy. In india 3/4th population is below poverty. Do u think ppl live their life cribbing like this?

Unless we ask those poor people how they feel we wouldn’t know !

We can not generalize suffering... the “ suffering we do not personally experienced is always “ some thing fictional for us.

Your hatred towards Dev’s character manifesting every possible way is right or not! Think yourself

Riya & NIkki didn’t suffer much

Neha suffered ...agreed

No, it was not like she never wanted. But she didn't plan early.

They showed dev talking care of golu, bcoz of story convenience. Otherwise how he will meet soha. But they could hv shown elina dev Vicky all taking care equally. Without butchering their character, they could hv shown dev attached to golu. But, that's creative liberty. 😆

Dev doing part time jobs was mentioned multiple times in S1. I can check & give you episode numbers when I have time. They mention paper distribution now but they have already said he worked while studying during S1 too. It's not a new addition to glorify him. Why is Ishwari stealing impossible if Dev was doing part time jobs? Ishwari was uneducated & a single mother who worked as a maid at multiple houses. How much could she have earned? And Dev was a little kid who was going to school & these part time jobs wouldn't have paid him much. They had to feed Neha, Nikki & Riya. Buy clothes & take care of all the household expenses apart from paying Dev's school fee. So it's really not a stretch that she was poor & desperate enough to steal despite Dev doing part time jobs.

Whose struggle was worse boils down to perception. A single illiterate mother with no prior job experience/money, having to raise four kids is a huge struggle. A little boy losing his father at a young age & growing up before time, studying hard under pressure & with the expectation that he has to make it big & save his family & doing part time jobs at a very young age & watching his mother suffer/get insulted day in and day out is a huge struggle. A girl not having the option of going to school cuz they don't have enough money & her mom chose to send her brother instead while she takes care of her two kid sisters, is also huge struggle. All three struggled in their own way. It's easy to say it's just poverty but struggling everyday to make ends meet & not having enough food even to feed your family day in and day out is a big big struggle. Am personally not in favour of belittling one of their struggles to say the other struggled more. And while there are ppl who go through worse in life, for everyone, what they went through is a big deal.

Last but not the least, how do we know poor ppl don't crib? Am sure they crib at home to their family everytime they have to struggle to make ends meet/when they want something desperately yet can't buy it because they don't have the resources/when they see how easy it is for ppl with money to live their lives (from their perspective). And how many happy memories can you make when there is no guarantee you will have food on your plate in your next meal? Dev had already mentioned they couldn't celebrate festivals because they had no money. He told Sona he distributed sugar at school after Nikki's birth so they had to go without sugar for days at home. That was their condition. In this situation, how exactly can you be positive day in & day out? It's a lot easier to say this than do it IMO. It's great if someone is happy despite everything but I won't fault them even if they aren't

Definitely individual perspective and how they choose to live. Finding happiness in what they hv is positive life approach. But dixits were way too negative to find any positivity in their life.

I cannot relate to their cribbing bcoz, I hv seen my 2 to 3 maids(over the period). All were struggling hard to meet their family requirement. Their husbands were not working, 2 to 3 children. Children school fees, food, rent n husband drinks all they used to provide. They had hardship, but still they had happy things to share. They used to forget their hardship when they were seeing their children growing up. Never giving up attitude n never expect in return. They just happy that they able to earn n provide to their family. Looking at their struggle i know what woman can b. Really really hats off to them.

Our one of family friend lost parents at very young age. Neighbours look after them. He did part time jobs for his studies n all. Now he is in very good position. But I never saw him cribbing. Infact he was thankful to god giving him best neighbours. That is positive approach.

My point is not denying their hardship. Everyone goes through something or other. But don't make it like they only faced problem n they lived in hell. Be positive n try to be happy.
