The thing I realised is how I was totally fine with this serial when it was telecasted in Bengali. It was very popular and my whole family used to watch. Though I started to watch because of some funny moments that were showcased and later stopped because of the repetitive storyline but I was always aware of what was happening because you don't need to watch everyday when your family is mad about that serial. But problem is I never tried to dissect it this way back then. Yes I was young but me thinking it was alright is alarming. This is what they are doing to the young minds. This seriously needs to stop.

I agree with so much of it. When we're young and have an impressionable mind, we don't bother questioning these shows because we don't even know that we're supposed to question it. Before we even realize (that is, IF we realize because a majority obviously doesn't hence the recurring BS) these ideas are so deeply ingrained and normalized in our minds that we find it acceptable, not only in reel but also in real life.

I absolutely LOVE Jammy's show analysis videos 😆 and his Matlab Kuch Bhi series. The man looks and sounds so fed up, it's parts hilarious and part sad 😆

This show is actually based on an old movie starring Rishi Kapoor. The concept is the same.

They should try this with a woman having two husbands for a change, that will be refreshing 😆

Anyways, it’s not the fault or the makers when people want to watch such shitty shows.

Okaay I didn't meant to rant but I couldn’t control. So here's mine and bear with me😆

O yes I saw this video yesterday. Jammy's take on this was very good. I was very young when the Bengali version of this show was aired. I don't remember much watching it, but I knew the opening title track of the show. My grandmothers were so invested in this show.

My mother used to watch Imlie and GHKKPM but stopped watching because of how problematic it was. Malini was such a good Character but the show was in the name of Imlie, so they had to do Bechari Imlie and vamp Malini. Aditya being the "man", gets out of any problem. In ghum, I think everyone just wake up and tick their to-do list of belittling Sai.

I also saw one comment of IPZN and other shows about how they have good storyline and plot but they have to be changed in between because of trp and Indian audiences are fed so much with these problematic plots that they can't enjoy good shows.

The young minds are filled with these lies and problems and it's been from the ages. If change has to be brought, it would be very difficult. Not impossible but very difficult.
