If you see this from fictions POV, how were JasFa suffering? They had everything very easy even after the EMA revelation except for few slaps and taunts here and there. Tejo left them to their fate, gave divorce and was leaving the house. So it was working to their benefit, there needed to be some twist for them to suffer.

Divorce in marriage is a choice, if someone don't opt for it does not make them any weak. Delaying the divorce is not going to hamper Tejo's dignity or self respect.
