I think the absence of judgements and assumptions. Being anon gives you the freedom to express your views or opinions without the fear of being judged or mistaken. Also the said person's views could not affect you or your life mostly..

I'd jump in here and add that I've met some of the most wonderful people here on IF and later gone on to become really close friends in my personal life too, without ever actually meeting them in person. I agree, we now live in a world where we often find a sense of comfort in anonymity. It's both a blessing and a curse I'd say.
