In katelal &sons - that's they were showing to...explaining to... dharmpal and society...... girls can be girls and still can handle men business.

I am sorry but who decides these standards? Who decides what makes "girls really girls"? Meet didn't change her look to be a man. Its just comfortable for her. If someone thinks having short hair and wearing jeans/shirt/jackets make her a man or makes her look "like" a man then that thought in itself is primarily sexist. There is no authenticity for such standards. Meet is a girl, a proud one.

She rightly may not have, but the fact that people assume her to be one just because of appearance is the REET they are attempting to address and change here. The society has gotten so used to bucketing certain physical or emotional attributes into gender, which makes zero sense in today's context. Hopeful we will see them help her get comfortable in her own skin, and not constantly under the pressure of having to replace the 'son' of the house.

It is exactly the thought that she's trying to be man just because she looks a certain way, the show is trying to address. She does a lot of work and she finds this comfortable, she has to provide for her family. She herself isn't trying to replace anyone as we saw her saying in episode 2, she just wants to be a good child to her mother, not a girl or a boy. And if we go by the bengali version, post marriage as she attends college and time passes, she does grow her hair because then she doesn't have this constant pressure of providing for the house or she doesn't have to do so much work. She just have to study. But again this concept of girls can be girls and still be strong, she doesn't have to cut her hair is sexist because there is no rule that girls are supposed to look a certain way and if there is, there shouldn't be.

I dont mean she wants to replace, she is pretty awesome the way she is as a person tbh, I meant that from Dadi's perspective and everyone constantly emotionally blackmailing her to act up as the son of the house, which is unfair to her, as she is not getting to live the way she would ideally like to i.e become a police officer like her father. Her adopting that style (hair, clothes) is simply for convienence to focus on her work and earn a decent livelihood so that she can keep everyone secure as she subconsciously promised her dad growing up. But the sad reality is that yes, people do constantly judge on the basis of physical appearance and expect everyone to fit the mold not just in this terms but also height, weight, colour of skin, eyes etc. etc. Will refrain from commenting on Bengali version, because have not seen it nor do we know how much they will retain or change. But yes, at the core, the fact is that gendered expectations bring us down as a society and that is the norm she is trying to change.

Yes it is unfair to her, and that's the whole journey of the show. Her journey of achieving her dreams, ambitions and finding love. The whole show is her story, so that's the journey we're in for here. To see her becoming a police officer, living her life the way she wanted, finding love.

She is bold and courageous. It doesn't have to overly show. I find her really realistic. And her looks go with it too

Short hairs isn't some patented property of men. It's our choice how we want our hairs - short or long. And wearing jeans t-shirt isn't either. Having short hairs and wearing t-shirts dosent make you any less a girl.

She hasn't changed because she needs to look like a man to do the work. She has because she finds it comfortable

This is just my POV - just for ha ha !!!🤣🤣🤣

I would marry a man if he is cooking for his parents, cleaning his house or doing laundry etc - be it for his wish or requirements of the family or duties thrown on him by elders - I do not mind.

However (again it is my POV, not offense/hurt ) - I would NOT think of even going close to that man if he is wearing a saree or ladies dress or mini skirts with crop tops, women sandals with high heels, colorful bangles and matching jewelry for saree - just he feels comfortable in those... for the type of the chores he is/has to doing/do !!

I might be friend of him, help him as much I can - can not be life partner !

I know - I am old school !!!🤣
