What do you folks think about this???
To everyone disliking Amaal, Baseer, et al…
I had just started enjoying the hug and the episode was over.
Before discussing THE hug. Let us have a look at what happens before.
Bebo, is day by day making me realise she needed a lesson in some way to bring her on earth. She is the type who believes her name is enough to get her through anything.
BM makes matters worst when she says Sabherwal daughters do not lie. Where is this coming from?
Is the fact that they are rich make them perfect?
For once Vineet followed Babli everywhere she wanted to go...What happened to him?
Shaan is a bit overconfident in stating that Shaurya will come to him first given the equation they have.
In a way Tej is right in asking Babli to go to the police station, but there is a way you talk to someone who is anxious and worried.
Devi is from another planet, she can be the most insulting and the way she addresses people whether it is Shaan or Babli is like they are the lowest lowlife around.
Now to the most mesmerising hug, Shaurya is in shock as much as Anokhi.
I loved:
Shaurya's touch on her chin
Shaurya's hand on her head.
Shaurya's making her hold the water and helping her take a sip.
Everything about the hug was perfect.
Now when watching it for the first time, I can already feel the shock, warmth, happiness all shakians started to experience not knowing there will be more coming.
We are a lucky bunch experiencing such a natural feeling from itv.
The innate goodness of Shaurya is again seen after the shoe incident.
Shaurya true character is slowly brought to the fore.
The ride has just started....
THIS EPISODE! THE HUG! It's what brought so many viewers to the show! This rewatch and these reviews are like my love letter to SAAKK.
On one side you have all the main players being informed about a missing Anokhi. On the other you have our one man search party of Shaurya Sabherwal. Vineet is in fine form in this episode. He uses his lawyer status and "strong" voice to try to find Nikki at SIAC. He's surprisingly supportive of his wife. Babli, Rama, and Aastha do their part to get help as well in trying to get in touch with Shaan. Babli and Vineet end up at SH. I can't imagine what a family goes through when a girl goes missing in India. I'm sure only the worst go through their mind. What if she's kidnapped? What if she was assaulted? What if she was murdered?
The Sabherwals stay true to form. The twins take the opportunity to badmouth Anokhi. They talk about small town girls and cast aspersions on her credibility with their lies. Devi sounded just like Mrs.Bhatia, on her opinions about Anokhi and how troublesome she is. It shows that money doesn't buy class or compassion. Devi had the audacity to say that Sabherwal girls don't lie. Of course they do, they learned it from the matriarch! Tej and Alok were no better with their insinuations. Thankfully Shaan came to the rescue.
Shaurya Sabherwal was a one man search party. Once he heard that Anokhi hadn't gotten home, he put the pieces together that she must be on campus. He is restless as he keeps calling out "Anokhi" and roaming the halls. Then finally she responds with "Main yaha hoon". His first concern is if she's okay and then gets the field hockey stick to break the lock. As soon as he does, he forcefully opens the door and she runs full force into him. Poor Anokhi looked so confused and lost. Thankfully Shaurya was there to grab onto. I can't praise this scene enough. The cinematography is A-plus. As soon as the hug happened, there was no sound for a second before the song started. I don't know if it's an editor's or a director's choice, but it was soooooooo effective. It's like the hug hits you in the gut in that moment of silence. The song choice during the hug was amazing! I coudn't pick if the lyrics were describing Shaurya's or Anokhi's feelings! The lyrics was an acknowledgement that two broken people had come together.
Khud se dil dar sa gaya hai, andar kuch mar sa gaya hai
Dil se dil ghabra raha hai, khud se bikhar sa gaya hai
Khud se, khud se, khud se, khud se, khud se
Khoyi si chandni bhi ho gayi hai badguma
Ab to ye zindagi bhi lagti hai ik baddua
Zehreele zakhmo ki, ye jo kharashe hai
Koi toh aake dekh le, khud se tarashe hai
Khud se, khud se, khud se, khud se, khud se
The hug itself had two people in it. Normally, one person hugs and the other feels awkward. In the first ShaKhi hug, they both took part in it and when it ended, there was no awkwardness. He just said "Tum teek ho?" followed by their first chin/cheek caress.
Anokhi is tormented by her memories and they chose another great song to convey her trauma.
akhiyo ke dhare, sukhe hai sare
suna hai manzar, suna tu jo na re
ho rabba mileya mileya na, jo khoya mileya mileya na
tutte sare dhage re taveez na thage re kiski nazar lage re
tu rab hai sab jane re har dard pehchane re
kyu na nazar kaate re
bandhu main kisse umeede, tu bata de re
ho rabba mileya mileya na, jo khoya mileya mileya na
Side note:
~ Devi and Shaan scene was interesting. Why does Shaan think that he has any say in Shaurya's life? He says: "Main uska baap hoon"......but then act like it! He's so confident that Shaurya wants his ashirwaad. It's like he knows his son is needy and wants his love, but he doesn't put it the effort to fulfill that need.
~ Lots of parallels with the first hug and the tu zaroori hug. The chin hold and caress that happen multiple times. The holding and making her drink water which parallels with him forcing her to drink the nimbu paani later.
~ I saw the hug on IG in a short clip. The hug captured my interest, which made me google the show. There wasn't much hype on twitter yet, so I came to IF. SAAKK has been an integral part of my last 6 months and a great distraction from this pandemic.

Me and you are on the same wavelength! I agree with everything you said about Bebo, Devi, and Vineet!! I was thinking the same thing with what Tej said. They should really report it to the police, even if there is a 24 hour missing rule. But Tej's patronizing tone just turns me off.
THAT HUG! I can remember how intrigued I was by it. I almost wish I could reexperience watching the episode for the first time. The way Shaurya holds her, it's so protective.........and the look on his face is like he was punched in the gut with feelings. And like you said, we see his innate goodness shine through. He started the day annoyed with her, kicked her out of his classroom, and was mad at her badmouthing him.........with all of that he was all full of concern and care!

Saberwaals are from another planet. they are puuurrfect.
Is the fact that they are rich make them perfect?
For once Vineet followed Babli everywhere she wanted to go...What happened to him? He only followed her on behest of his father and for his "izzat" because what will society say if anything happened to Nikki. (makes me wanna throttle him!)
Shaan is a bit overconfident in stating that Shaurya will come to him first given the equation they have.
I feel Shaan's confidence stems from the fact that he knows shaurya better than Devi. Though shaurya never shows his soft side in front of Tejvi but Shaan is the only one in that family who has an idea it exists. I think shaan knows deep down Shaurya loves him a lot ( and yet Shaan prefers to be drunk and in love instead of raising his son!) and maybe even for shagun Shaurya came to him and I am sure the father son would not mantion it to Devi!
In a way Tej is right in asking Babli to go to the police station, but there is a way you talk to someone who is anxious and worried.
Devi is from another planet, she can be the most insulting and the way she addresses people whether it is Shaan or Babli is like they are the lowest lowlife around.
I dont understand if Devi is more arrogant or ignorant. But this pitfall of "knowing shaurya" will cost her a lot later.
Now to the most mesmerising hug, Shaurya is in shock as much as Anokhi.
I loved:
Shaurya's touch on her chin ❤️
Shaurya's hand on her head.
Shaurya's making her hold the water and helping her take a sip.

Okay, I dont know how to express the hug so i will mostly go overboard
But the rest first
While i found it hilarious that Shaan wanted to be "a father" today but I feel his confidence stems from the fact that he knows Shaurya better on a fundamental level. He is aware that Shaurya has a soft side. Also, with the confidence he rebuffed Devi's nonsense, maybe Shaurya had come to him in shagun's case.
Babli reaches the college and then moves to Saberwaal house. The way Tejvi and Alok treat them is just horrible. My issue is , its their college and a student is missing. Should they not be concerened? And Tej is usually levelheaded in such things but dear lord they sound more and more stupid the more they try to sound above everyone else.
The twins are learning the art of deception from the family is all i can say.
Loved how Shaan stood up for Babli (anokhi). WHY does he not do that for his son? Honestly, I understand , Aastha leaving him destroyed him and his core and it was like he was revived after that phone call and yet i see no effort from his end to talk to Shaurya!
Okay...the buildup to the HUG!
In the previous episode only you could see Shaurya's mind racing on seeing the ID card. He knew something was amiss. I am assuming that the commotion outside the gate by Babli coincided with this moment and Shaurya ran out and discovered that the slight idea in his head that something was wrong with Anokhi was correct.
He is frantically going from classroom to classroom for Anokhi (something that the management should have done the first instance when Babli came to them). His voice becomes her hope and she screams. (Voices do revive people and their hopes dont they?) He finds her and gets that make shift hockey stick? and he breaks the door down (walls always seprate them..i wonder why) .Anokhi is desperate to get out of that claustrophobic place and she jumps. You can clearly see the desperation and fear that she does not realize what to do and where to go to get away. He stablizes her and wow!
He is the only person in this moment of vulerability. The silence before the hug, hits you and then so effortlessly they hug. Its like, they have done this a million times. The hug was platonic but it gave you all the feels. His hand on her head and her desperatly clutching the back of his blazer. Such effortless chemistry! The song in BG made me feel Anokhi was sxared of everything but Shaurya and Shaurya was scared of himself and the intensity that hit him here. Like if he held her too tight or let her go, she would break. Like he was meant to comfort her and only her.
You can see when the moment breaks and they part ways. The sweet gestures of his hand on her chin and him making her drink water! It all adds up making this moment magical. You realise Anokhi is not as strong as she looks (she was a china doll here) and Shaurya is not as harsh as he makes himself to be.
I really went overboard but this scene is magic!❤️

It's so nice that even with the show off air and having watched the scene multiple times, we can still wax eloquence about it. Such is the power of great storytelling!
To defend the Sabherwals a little......something like this has never happened before. They have protocols in place where rooms are checked and then locked by security. Clearly there was a breakdown of that system if a student is able to lock a room themselves. Also when a student is missing, you should go to the police, which Tej said as well. Instead of making a ruckus at SH, it would be more effective to go to the police. Even I can only defend them to this point. Their insinuations about Anokhi is where they crossed the line.
I like your line about walls separating them. I believe someone did a parallel between them being on two sides of the door during ragging to being on two sides off the wall during kidnapping and then being on two sides of the door after their break up as well.
Rightttttttttttttttt..............the hug was purely platonic! But it got us all in the feels, that even 7 months after, we can't get over it! Also love that last line........Anokhi is not as strong and Shaurya is not as harsh......they balance each other out in their times of weakness.
Is it the same vineet? That's what occurred to me looking at the way he presented himself in this episode. He looked subdued and spoke law when he said you are not allowed to trespass others property, complete contrast to the way he spoke to Astha and Anokhi during admission episode where Astha had to remind him of laws. Even when they went to Sabherwals to meet shaan his approach was different and rather calm to his usual self. Till now we have seen him misbehaving with Nikki, Babli and Astha who he thinks are weaker and lower in status compared to him(a man). But now he is dealing with the Sabherwals who have power and belong to a higher echelon of the society.
Babli is really worried for her sister but wasn't sure of how to reach out for help other than go to college. Rama on the other hand instead of worrying too much was able to put her brain to work and quickly suggested that Babli should call Shaan and she would call Astha. These are the only two people who really caredforAnokhi other than Rama and Babli so they are the right people to approach. May be this is something which Nikki got from her mother as rather than worrying she tries to address the situation in an apt way.
Sisters.. the least said the better. They have implemented their plan perfectly of cooking up stories against Anokhi in every possible way so that she is in bad books of everyone and they can stay assured of not getting caught.
Tej Devi and Alok have their own respective ways of degrading people. Alok in a rather crude manner, whereas Bm and Tej a bit polished and sophisticated way but it ultimately leads to humiliating the person against them.
Even though it was BMs dutyto letShaan know of the proposal, how could Shaan think that Bm will inform him knowing her controlling nature? Also Shaan in my opinion has lost rights as a father owing to the neglect he has shown towards Shaurya. How could he confidently say that Shaurya would come to him for blessings.. I felt that it was too much from his side to expect this.
Anokhi’s shocked state after all that has been transpired on her has been portrayed very well through her confusion of where to go after the door has been unlocked. When Ss grabs hold of her and she hugs him, there are tears of relief in his eyes that he could save her in time. The duration of the hug showed that he really cared and wanted to make sure she calms down before letting go. At this moment he didn’t think about the girl who snatched away his happiness but a girl who was in dire need of support and help. He is such a nice, caring, kind human from inside. After all he gets all these traits from his parents who are two amazing individuals but could not support each other.

Beautiful review! Well.. you cannot really go overboard with this one episode. It deserves all the praise, be it in terms of acting, editing, cinematography, music and THE HUG! 😍🙌😁 all of us went gaga over it. I was even slightly pissed off when the played the romantic sounding “Aahh “ BGM during the post hug moments 🤪 . It was not romantic, yet subtle and supremely magical . Rare to see such moments in whatever little ITV I’ve seen, so kudos to the team! 🙌

I know I’m super late but didn’t want to miss this Anju! O.M.G!! 😍😍 I had no clue , I was such a passive viewer until this episode happened !
I guess this was the only time when Vineet showed some concern for Anokhi and stood by Babli, albeit with his tantrums and insults.
Eyeroll worthy drama . I cringed whenever Devi talks about Sabherwal ki ladkiyan 😂
Delusional ki BMI started watching when I first came across bits of Anokhi’s speech. Then casually skimmed thru the episodes and the Bengali version in parallel. Until this epicness happened!! I was genuinely so touched by it, felt like I witnessed something that was so real, raw and pure. Not romantic in any way, but just 2 lost souls looking out for each other. They both needed the hug and it came at the right time. It gives us a glimpse of the softy Shaurya is, his voice totally changes when he asks her if she’s okay.
The cinematography.. ah you rightfully pointed it.. so well done!
The music! The violin! 😍 I never heard this song before but whenever I hear these lines it pulls my heartstrings and reminds me of the hug.Deba as the shocked, traumatized Anokhi totally nailed it in this episode! 😍🙌 i remember being so sad for her situation and then came the hug when I was least expecting it. It makes you go “Aww.. “ followed by *sigh😇
😂😂 Roast of Shaan Sabherwal. Pssst…Atleast he didn’t abandon him and go away 🤪 ( now it is “The Roast of Shaastha” 😁)
😁 We live for parallels Anju. SAAKK FP lives for Tom and Jerry Parallels. Everyday we are served something new 😅😁
Ohh thank Gods for Google , I found IF. I came in a few days later ... Lol I was totally into IF once the Riots promo came.
That speech of Anokhi's is such a great attention grabbing scene! I can understand just trying to get through the next 20 episodes waiting for Shakhi to meet again. I also checked out the Bengali version's story. There used to be a post about the regional version on here and I used to stalk it to learn what was to come. I was almost turned off by the direction of Mohor, but I stuck it out and thank got SAAKK took it's own journey...far superior to the original!
I'm glad you found your way to IF and became part of my online fangirling life!
