Sooo we had a hot and sizzling episode yesterday. It only goes to show that the attraction is still very much there, although I wish that they would bring this out more often.

Anywayyy, but let's not get swayed away with all the serotonin. Starting something new, sharing all their feelings - these promises make sense. But promise to not take stress? I felt it doesn't quite touch the issue at its root. And plus there was no mention of ishwariiii - the biggest factor in the strains of their relationship. And again dev goes free without engaging in any introspection. But I like that the counselor pointed out is everything completely okay now between them? The trust and comfort? So there is still hope this gets addressed.

But their relationship seems more and more of an hold and cold one recently, you know. Maybe calling it toxic would be a stretch, but it's definitely not a stable one..yet. like they can't hold a thought for more than two three days it seems. From dreamy love to the ugliest of fights and seperation everything happens so quickly and the previous state is forgotten. Dev is very very good in making gestures and proclaiming his love. But still his actions dont match his words often. Sona decides to take a stand and fight for something, but then can't handle the extreme pressures at home (well of course, with an elder like ishwari) and Dev's unpleasant reactions. As a result, it feels like quick patches of okay we are okay, and then never getting to the root.

I see sona's Instinct for discomfort as a sign. Yes please sona, I know he can be veryyy dreamy, but please don't get swayed away. And neither let dev for that matter. Counseling will be gooood for him. Who knows maybe the counselor points out the problematic traits of Ishwari to dev? And coming from her, he takes it in a less defensive way.

As @Su94 and I were discussing, Ishwari may not be touched at all. She would need an entire season if that can of worms is opened.

They may just do the trust part and wrap it up.

She is flip-flopping way too much this season. At least, earlier seasons, she had been either this side or that side. In S3, she is nice one episode, not nice the other. No reason at all for the flip-flopping. Writers have lost their minds.

Ishwari is an obsessive mom but the problem is not IShwari and her obsession. The problem is Dev not accepting that his mom is very obsessive about him. Look at Vicky how nice and smoothly he handles his mom. Its not that Vicky is heartless but the fact his he loves is mother like any other child, just that he doesnt blindly patronize her. There is always a tint of humor added to his "negative responses" to his mom.

In this case Dev should take some training from Vicky .

Many a times I have felt this Dev relationship with his mom is not normal at all. In some way he feel indebt to his mom and whatever he is doing is more paying for the sacrifices that she has done for him. Probably that could be one reason for his silence. He is never the true Dev in front of his mom. The real Dev is what Sonakshi has seen.

In this season , many a times Sona has made it very clear that his silence towards his mom's interference in to their personal zone is creating problems. But Dev never accepts that as he sees his mother as god . For him his mother cant be wrong and if/when she is then he finds a justification for it.

What he doesnt understand is , he doesnt need to choose between his mom and his wife, what he needs to choose as head of the family is between "right " and "wrong".

Now with Ms. Serendipity in picture , I am not sure where this all will lead...

This was my hunch when they mentioned counselling. This is so typical of Indian shows and mostly indian relationships where counselling is not favored by majority especially men.

I knew Ishvari will never be brought up and her manipulative & interfering ways to butt in Devakshi's marriage. She is the root cause 70% responsible but 30% fault lies with Dev as he is a bigger to blame for not handling his marriage relationship like a man & still can't be assertive with his mother. He is too attached to Momma's pallu.

No matter how strong and vocal Sona is, at the end of the day she always says sorry and gives into this TOXIC family. This family & marriage is TOXIC because Dev-Sona goes through same Cycle over and over if any one has noticed. 10 yrs of marriage, 7 yrs seperation and recently Sona left, almost left with 3 kids but some how stayed during Ayush-Ved fiasco.

This has been insinuated throughout the first season.

Dev and Ishwari's relationship is not a normal one. It's a step beyond, where Dev had to step in his father's shoes to stand next to his mother after his father's death. He and Ishwari were partners bringing up the girls together, facing all issues of life.

So when Sona arrived, Ishwari couldn't bear to take a step back. She was forced to though, due to Dev's condition after separation from Sona. Even afterwards, she constantly reminded him of his "duty" towards his family, especially when she felt he was losing himself in his happiness with Sona. She has been the master of guilting him into subservience. She reminds him that she has done so much and now no matter what, he needs to be there for her, even at the cost of keeping himself. Sona was bang on, when she said, 'you gave all your love to Dev and now you expect that he should give it all back to you and you only and no one else.'

Dev has been traveling on the guilt machine for his whole life, thanks to Ishwari. He is himself only with Sona, he knows it and Sona knows it. Ishwari has understood this part to a large extent because of his mental and emotional state whenever he is separated from her.
