If Kirti had given in to her Dadi she would have got married to Mayank with all the rasams. Even Mayank agreed to marry again. Why? Glad Kirti was adamant that she wanted out. All these before she found out that she was not married to Mayank.

This was a realistic and painful read. After the first chapter which revealed about Urmi and Karuna behavior...I had hoped that Karuna would have improved.

But she did not. Someone who thinks that a first girl child is a bad omen, who can appreciate that grand daughter if only the child's mother is not around, who is happy when her son has basic martial discord. my hope was experience makes you wise but then bitterness,jealousy and power play does not expire with age for many 😔 .

One can hold Urmi responsible because she abdonded her kids and husband. That Keshav had to pander to her expensive taste. She is not perfect and felt entitled. She was married off when she was 20 and had Kirti by 21 or earlier. You are still not an adult and you are already a mother !

But she had loved Kirti and did not shirk her responsibility towards her. By 22 she also gave birth to a still born child. That she found no support from Karuna is not surprising but that she was fulfilling Keshav sexual needs few days after is puke worthy. Postpartum depression was not recognized...maybe it was ignornace but everything that was happening in Singh's house- felt a married woman is suppose to be not human but super human. Or a cattle who should fo your bidding.

Urmi made a mistake (folks can do..when you feel trapped ) but Karuna is equally responsible for her actions.

GN this was a beautiful write up..glad you took no short cuts here. There is a lot of societal expectations about being a woman or being a mother..the central thread being that self comes last. A mother needs to be self scarificing.human being. 😏

Shradha couldn't have put it better. Urmi also grew up in a family setup that was different from the one she married into. Her parents due to their changed financial situation married her off. She was young, immature and found it difficult to fully reconcile with the situation she found herself in. We always expect the girl/woman to compromise, "adjust" as they say. You sacrifice all your dreams, expectations at the altar of the family. Its sad that even basic considerations can't be expected in return. We also seem to brush off loss associated with miscarriage, still birth etc as if that is not a loss. There is no doubt that she was wrong in the way she left her kids in the first instance. Knowing the situation at her marital home, the thought process of Karuna. But Keshav and Karuna cannot be held blameless in the situation too.

GN, this was like Shradha put it a very hard hitting chapter. I can't tell you how some of the things made me feel.

So Hardiik with a double ii...is that a coincidence that Urmi wanted her second child to be named that. Is it possible that Urmi is not his sugar momma? Anyway so he does have a crush on Kirti.

#75 So scandal involved Nishit work ! I had assumed that it would be some exposé involving the Agarwal family engineered by Urmi 😋 This is way better...assuming this will lead to the breakup of the engagement ❤️

#76. Nishit misinterpreted Mayank,Kirti camaraderie to love 😏 He returned the umbrella...he had come to meet Dadi yes...but also a goodbye to Kirti.

Glad she has kept aside both umbrellas and pen.

Nice song, an 80s-90s feel to it. Pawandeep's audition is probably one of the best I've seen. A real musician, not just a singer.

Kirtis dad started of as a stable career dude, then maybe due to disenchanted with work or laziness quit it. There was one kid, one upcoming and no financial security and yet he was like "oh u are always about money, u married me for money" like bro what' about providing stability to your kids and spouse? And even his mom was sad that he became an auto driver, he really thought his wife will stay around for his bs. In all this urmi turned out to look like a gold digger while just because the husband died he went scot free. Like how much adjustment she could do? Her saas was devil, husband spineless and she had a bleak future. Running away wasn't the solution but how else could she stay in that suffocating environment. Those moments where during her pregnancy she didn't even get bare minimum care was so heart breaking.

Also I think yrs ago woman going to get work she wouldn't get much choice. Idk how she made money after she was turned away from sasural

Your writing is as real as ir can get. If Karuna being bed ridden, and living at Ohjas had not thrown a tantrum, being mean and inconsiderate to Kirt..it would have been unnatural. I loved how you used Radha's dad to deliver some hard truths to Karuna. Will she improve..I hope so because Kirti will continue to bear her abuse otherwise.

Glad Mayank remained a good friend and had never married Kirti. I completely agree with his reasoning and the flaws in Kirti arguments. She has been very naive and is lucky that she has friend in Mayank.

Loved how both sons are very much aware the true nature of their parents and Ravi has no issue that he has a girl child. 😍
