chapter 83

The wedding never happened. Nishit went away before that.

Does Rimjhim have any idea there is daughter out there and who she is?

An invitation that will take her to Nishit's place again. Will he show up by chance?

Hardiik was taking care of a sick Lily. He still has some hope of running into Kirti. Who was he missing? Was it Urmi?

He sure took a lot of care making that soup.

So much happened in the last few chapters.

Karuna and Urmi surely occupied my mind the most.

Not sure what to feel for them anymore.

Should I feel angry for their actions, stupidity, egos or just feel sorry for the kind of circumstances they faced which made them take these decisions?

Karuna's outlook towards the world and people is due to how most were during those times. I am not justifying her actions, but then one has to accept too that is how she has been conditioned.

Urmi was unhappy with the way her married life was turning out to be.

She was always a woman with high expectations and dreams. That is also fine. But the problem is when you depend entirely on others (even husband) to keep fulfilling your wishes, then disappointments are bound to happen. Keshav could not keep up by fulfilling her wants and along with that loss of a baby and depression setting in, things went downhill completely.

The biggest drawback of their marriage was while Keshav was content with whatever little he had, Urmi dreamt big and was never content.

Urmi never thought that she should step in and take control of their marriage, maybe study or take up a job or take reigns of their marriage.

It is always easy to escape but tough to stay put and fight it out.

Wonder how she met this Lokhande guy and why she eloped with him(?)

So she did return a few years later and she was driven away by Karuna and the Ojhas. Seriously these Ojhas are the most pathetic people I have seen in my life.

And now we know the big secret Biplab was keeping form Kirti.

But even if Kirti would have known, what difference would it have made I am wondering. Mr. Ojha got some kind of restraining order so that she could not meet the kids?

Did Urmi try to contact the kids after Keshav died?

Ways of fate are strange.

Ojhas drove Urmi away from her kids and now Urmi has adopted their grand daughter Radha.

Karuna threw Urmi away from her house and kept the kids away from her and now Karuna is staying in Ahilya's house.

Wow, life does come around a complete circle, isn't it.

What does Urmi do that she has so much money and she is always in between these so called "elite" people?

Ahilya asking Rimjhim is she would accept her daughter as her DIL and Rimjhim dodging the question, well looks like Urmi does have an idea that Kirti and Nishit have some thing in between them.

Funny right, while Nishit's engagement broke as the girl did not want to marry a guy whose name has appeared in some scam, Rimjhim does not want a girl to be her DIL as her mother has quite a scandalous reputation in the society.

Will continue in the next comment......

Did not want to make it too long.

The biggest joy and contentment I felt after reading these chapters was that Kirti studied and cracked the NBI exams and now she is on a right path towards a good career in life.

Midnight boy (Nishit) unknowingly helped Kirti and along with all the drama that happened due to Karuna, she did well and she got selected.

Ojhas have played the antagonist role in her life much more than she can even imagine. Mrs Ojha says her role in her husband's life was just of a maid and that she suffered so much, problem with all these women is, in the disguise of suffering, they have become extremely bitter and vile women.

Fine, her husband was a scum. But she could have at least raised her sons well. Though she is lucky Mayank turned out decent, still he could have been better. And Ravi could have been a good individual. Now her marriage and her children are suffering and not sure if the entire blame should be placed on Mr. Ojha. Mrs Ojha too has an equal role of how they are today.

When elders take wrong decisions, do not own up to their responsibilities and blame the entire world for their problems, then it is the kids who suffer the most.

Urmi's actions made Kirti suffer the most.

I also get now as to why Kirti was so attached to Radha. She saw herself in Radha. Not sure what intentions Urmi has while adapting Radha, but hope she is able to do justice to the child. Is it just to make Kirti accept her mother back or does she feel this is a kind of redemption to her actions?

So Prakash father-son duo turned out to be big fraudsters. Did Nishit now find out about their big frauds and scams when he worked for them? Or did he tip the ED about it I wonder.

Good that Mayank and Kirti are not married and Mayank did good by tricking her and making her realise how it is okay to think about oneself more sometimes.

So Mayank likes a girl or just he has flings?

Also why did Nishit's father only pick Kirti to answer so many questions? Is it because he reconised her or he was surprised that she cracked the exams? Or he wanted to test her genuinely?

Kirti found a good friend in Debbie.

Kirti in that way finds good friends wherever she goes, be it Shruti or Lily and now Debbie.

How and when did Urmi meet Hardiik and who is he really? Does he like Lily?

Thank you for all the wonderful chapter GN.

GN, how do you know so much about these exams, Government job positions, departments, etc etc.

Really I feel so dumb that I have no idea about any of these and there are so many who dedicate their lives to get into these services.

What happened to that cat Kriti had adopted? Matilda was it's name right.

And also the numerous pets Nishit had adopted?

Also what happened to Tejas?

Same here Kavi, I had no idea about these exams.

GN, I’m trying hard to find words to express what I felt reading these chapters. It is incredible the whole arc of human nature you managed to capture here. Especially the lot of women, in patriarchal setups. When you have to fight, struggle for whatever little power one can get for yourself. One would expect that would make one more empathetic towards other women. But you see the opposite. Karuna and Mrs. Ojha could’ve been more understanding and helpful towards their DILs, but act as if they are competition, making everybody’s life miserable in the process. Then you see kids suffering for the bad decisions and actions of elders, the effects like a ripple spreading over the course of their life. The other thing I was struck by is whether Mayank in his quest to open Kirti’s eyes, overstepped, took decisions for her. I’m sure he repents now that he knows the full extent of what his parents had done to her.
