So so so..another day another GOOD episode!!
Okay 2 things
1. Astha slays like a queen
2. Shaurya and Aastha are cut from the same cloth. Its funny how only shaan can see how similar they are.
The episode starts with a beautiful reunion. Shastha are lost in their own world. Is this love? Maybe. The stares were filled with longing. Also, what is the obsession with sindoor (the father son duo)? Shaan feels happy that Aastha still thinks of him as a husband? (No shaan she is complete without you. She loves you, she does not need you) annnnddd, then we have the son, who is filled with RAGE!!
"Get Out!" , he always says it, does he even want it ?😆Shaan again took a stand against Shaurya, for Aastha! Again reminding his son, never for him :( and aastha herself logically shut up her son. It was not his day!!
Alok! I loved how she started the first line of her insult by teaching him how to speak to women. Give him the documents and said she will pay the fees ( I am glad as sabs would have never let it go away easily that shaan paid the fees) (Also, DID YOU SEE SHAURYA'S FACE! HE LOST !! and that made him angry!) Alok, comes to character next because men like him have nothing else to pint out!
Vineet! I thought she would slap Vineet as soon as he opened his mouth!! The way she sarcastically bashed Vineet and so fearlessly. Using his own "law degree" on him. LOL! Vineet needed to be behind bars for long now!
Shaurya and Aastha are cut from the same cloth. They both are too logical and proud. Shaury very well understood the likes of vineet but refused to give in because he hated his mother. His brain works as fast as his mother 🤣. Aastha laid out the facts and threatned to make a complaint, and in a very calm and sarcastic demeanor. I also feel she read his guilt here. She is one of the few unfazed by his extreme anger. This scene makes you think how alike both of them are.
Yet again shaan stand for Anokhi and aastha hugs her. My heart breaks. Shaurya's anger is justified but only at his parents. They dont deserve him. Aastha holding anokhi's hand and guiding her feels like fate's choice.
Only useful thing vineet does in the series , tells people its 10:50 AM and again gets beaten mentally by Aastha for anokhi's stay. Love how she uses society's own rules against these men!
Shaurya called his mother out on her stand and she left him alone again , not even meeting his eye. Whose guilt was it? hers. Who got hurt? What a wonderful scene!!!
Anokhi and aastha are ❤️❤️. what she says to her is so beautiful!! We all need an aastha. I say this again! (khol parrr, khol parr!!). Loved Nikki giving love to mummy ji.
annnnnnnnddddd then shaan stops aastha?
How is it that Anokhi being such a bright student never doubted there must be a connection between her Professor and the Sabherwal. A stranger would nver react towards Shaan the way Aastha did?
Instead of the KKKG track there should have been Tum Agaye Ho, Noor agaye hein, but then Shaurya's snarl at Aastha would have spoilt the song.
Anokhi is so lucky to have Aastha as her support.
'Apne jazbaat ko apni taakat banawo apni kamzori nahin', these well chosen words are enough advice for Anokhi to carry on with her dream of learning.
Aastha, who can put any man in their place just by her glance or by saying a few well chosen words.
Alok is reprimanded like a spoilt brat for showing no respect to a woman and showiing his stupidity by enumerating the requirements for admission.
Vineet is shown his place by turning the tables and suggesting calling Babli and putting the matter at rest,
Shaurya is given a lecture on how to run an institution and the potential mistake he is making which can have an adverse effect since she would be forced to report their dealing to the authority.
Shaan is spared because she still loves him and he has done his best to help Anokhi. Aastha seemed to feel proud on learning that Shaan had volunteered to pay Anokhi's fee. Inside she must be thinking, this is your first step towards acting as a responsible man
Where is Shaurya in all this?
He stands and watches his mum and dad engrossed in each other with no care of others.
He stands and gets a lecture from his mum for his bad behaviour.
He stands and watches Anokhi hug his mum and Shaan looking on like a proud father.
When Aastha holds Anokhi's hand to do the administrative procedure, I was expecting Shaan to go and at least pat Shaurya's shoulder in support/sympathy. But what does our Majnu do, looks at his son in irritation and follows his laila like a puppy.
Shaurya clenching his fist and then following on to tell his mum that she is fighting for somebody else for once.
Aastha being so bright should have understood that this boy is telling her, I was not important enough to fight for.
KV's eyes at that point...made me cry...
I seem to be crying a lot lately with these episodes...Maybe being a mother I find it difficult to relate to Aastha as a mother...
This was such a Aastha centered episode!! It's one of my favorite episodes for the roller coaster of emotions experienced.
As Aastha and Shaan see each other, they play the K3G music and zooming in on Aastha's sindoor. This scene is obviously going to throw Shaurya into a tizzy. Shaurya tried to call "security" and tried to tell Aastha to "get out". Shaan admonishes to show some 'respect', while Aastha reminds him that SIAC is an educational institution and not his personal playground. This entire confrontation has so much unspoken tension!
Alok is just an instigator who adds fuel to any fire. Aastha is very good at putting entitled, patronizing, mansplaining males in their place! She makes a better lawyer than Vineet! The fact that Alok and Vineet are questioning Anokhi's character is laughable. Shaan just watched the entire tamasha and spoke up in the end, concluding all discussion!
The scene with "Welcome to SIAC, Anokhi" and Shaurya's anger is great, because later his anger comes back when Anokhi gets rusticated. The man who tried his hardest to keep her out, will fight to keep her at SIAC in the future. Character growth! But the scene following with Shaurya's father smiling as Shaurya's mother hugs Anokhi really gets me in the gut. It is heartbreaking to see him in the background. And Shaan just looks at Shaurya and walks away. Why doesn't his parents care to attend to him at all?
Shaurya doesn't try to hide his hurt or his tears. His words might be laced with anger but he's very open about his sadness. It's visible on his face. This was such a novel thing to see in a male lead for me.
"Tajjub ho raha hai, aap ko kisi aur ke haq ke liye itna ladta hua dekh kar, waise to aaj tak aap apne, sirf apne liye ladi hai, hai na?"
While K3G sad version plays!
"Tere saath hongi meri duaayein
Aaye kabhi na tujhpe koi banaaye
Mera dil yeh kahe, tu jahan bhi rahe
Har ghadi, har khushi choome tere kadam
Yeh hai tere karam, kabhi khushi kabhi gham
Na judaa honge hum, kabhi khushi kabhi gham"
GIVE THE MAN A HUG, SOMEBODY!! Shaurya actually looks up, trying to swallow back the tears. How does a parent walk away from that? There was no ego there. Why didn't Aastha at least try?
Side notes:
~ People on campus know about Aastha. Surprising that it took Anokhi so long to learn her relationship to Shaurya.
~ Funny how Vineet came to gloat that the counter was closed and actually helped Anokhi. Mata rani was looking out for her favorite girl! "Ek zindagi, sau kwaishaan, main jeena, main jeena, main puri tarah"
~Aastha always leaves Anokhi with inspirational words "Apne jazbaat ko apne taakat banao, apni kamzori mat banne dena" "Mazboot bano, apne sapne pure karo" And we hear: "Aath samandar apna amber, Khoj le ab tu apne dum par, Phoonk marke dhool jhaad le, Chhod chhad ke sare chhappar, Khol de par!"
Whoever was responsible for song choice for this show deserves all the acclaim!

DITTO on all of what you said! Same thoughts! It was a fantastic episodes with so much emotion!! Anokhi got like 2 hugs from Aastha and poor Shaurya is like a side character in his own life, just relegated to the side by his own parents. I was sooooooooooooooooo outraged for him!!! Shastha didn't get the story or the redemption that was needed to make up for all these misdeeds!

@underline: Great questions!! Where is Shaurya in his parent's life story? My heart literally hurt for him. I'm not a parent, but I just can't imagine that Aastha could see her kid after 25 years and hear his words and see his tears and still walk away. She doesn't even try! On top of it, Shaan, the parent who at least watched Shaurya grow up, doesn't even extend a hand. Shaan and Aastha are just not parent material to me. I can't fathom that you walk away from a hurt child. All his actions are a cry for attention. Shaurya needs sooo many hugs. That one hug and makeup with his mom later wasn't enough.

❤️❤️ Why should display of certain emotions be hidden. Why can’t vulnerability be normalized irrespective of the gender?
"Tajjub ho raha hai, aap ko kisi aur ke haq ke liye itna ladta hua dekh kar, waise to aaj tak aap apne, sirf apne liye ladi hai, hai na?"
This always hits you right in the feels!

Right?!! It always left me feeling a little sad for Shaurya. 🥲 He so deserved a reassuring hug just
someonehis own parents to talk to and call him theirs. KV was brilliant in these initial episodes!🙌Side notes:
~ People on campus know about Aastha. Surprising that it took Anokhi so long to learn her relationship to Shaurya.
😂😂 Shsh now.. cause she is sabse Unique and sabse Anokhi
~ Funny how Vineet came to gloat that the counter was closed and actually helped Anokhi. Mata rani was looking out for her favorite girl! "Ek zindagi, sau kwaishaan, main jeena, main jeena, main puri tarah"
Haha Vineet turns out to be a savior! Who would’ve imagined, khud ki beizzati karwali aur Anokhi ko admission bhi diladiya! 😁
~Aastha always leaves Anokhi with inspirational words "Apne jazbaat ko apne taakat banao, apni kamzori mat banne dena" "Mazboot bano, apne sapne pure karo" And we hear: "Aath samandar apna amber, Khoj le ab tu apne dum par, Phoonk marke dhool jhaad le, Chhod chhad ke sare chhappar, Khol de par!"
Wow you got all those dialogues and lyrics right down to the T! 🙌🙌🤩
Whoever was responsible for song choice for this show deserves all the acclaim!
Amen to that!! 🙏🙌
Ah! You took me back Anju! Love this power packed episode. 🤩🙌The confrontation of right vs. wrong takes place at an educational institution, not your typical front room zillat arena. 😁 All the players are strong-headed , equally strong -willed and will not take insults lying down. Aastha’s arrival is such a morale boost for Anokhi. I love everything about this episode, but Aastha’s exchange with Shaurya always left me a bit confused.
How can a mother who sees her son after 25 years still be so stoic and unfeeling towards him?
We understand Shaurya’s anger and frustration with his mother, but what did Aastha have against Shaurya? He was all but 4(ish) when she left him, voluntarily! Of course she has every right to question his authority in dealing with Anokhi’s admission,But even she could sense that his anger was misplaced and directed wrongly towards Anokhi. (Well it is what it is .. otherwise we wouldn’t have gotten Riots/Aastha jaap/ Beautiful Hospital scenes😍😍😁)
I’m in green!

Male leads cry more in ITV than society allows men to cry in reality. But usually they cry after they've done something wrong to gain forgiveness. I know other male leads have similar storylines to Shaurya, but KVs acting is so superior that I want to burn the world down for Shaurya sometimes.
I totally agree that emotions should not have a gender attached to them. But you know the usual tropes of mothers having mamta and women being more emotional than men. Women emote while men stay stoic!
You make a great point about the zillat arena!! It's also not a "going in circles" kind of conversation. It's not that anyone will forget what happened during the confrontation and then have a repeat of it in next week's episode!
Aastha's disregard for her son in the early episodes was always confusing to me too. She tried to talk to him after their first meeting at Gurdaspur, but after that it's like she gave up trying to make him understand her side of the story. And you're right that if they could resolve their misunderstanding so easily, we would have missed out on some quality ShaKhi content. And also Aastha going missing is what brought Ahir into Shaurya's life 😉!!
