How Many Categories of Work (i.e., sweeping, mopping, washing clothes, doing dishes, dusting, grocery shopping): Sweeping and doing dishes daily, and mopping on alternate days

Her/Their Salary: INR 3,000

It takes her roughly 20 to 30 minutes to do the job. Any overtime, or additional tasks, she is paid extra on a per diem basis. She also gets Sundays and festivals off and additional days off for personal leave or sick leave on a need-basis.

We have had the same person working for us for many years now. She thinks we pay her well.

So you think you are fair to your employee paying her only Rs. 3K when people from Kochi have been paying their maids Rs. 10K to 15K.

Yes, because 10k is for working 5 hours a day.

3k is for 30 mins a day.

Have you read the above posts? No one from Kochi mentioned 5hr. Workload was as much as yours. If your super human maid can do that in 30min, their decently paid maids can, too.

Your maids are underpaid, admit it n shut shop.

What cost of living? Never heard the cost of living is higher in Kochi than in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai n other metros. The people from Kochi simply said, getting a maid is not that easy in Kochi, people there simply choose other jobs over a maid's. So it is not easy for middle class lazy bums to exploit their employees. Maids in other cities take whatever they get paid, out of desperation.

You would not stop exploiting your maids even if I do that 100 times.

In my society the rate is standard.. If it’s 1 person or 4.. it’s 2k for jhadu, pocha and dishes..

I haven’t kept a maid anymore but she used to finish her work just in 20 mins and leave 😅

I’m in 3 bedroom.. I was staying alone so there was hardly any mess and any dishes..

No of members: 3

No of dishes/day: 2

Dusting and mopping, dishes and clothes. (We generally wash our regular clothes ourselves)

Rooms: 3

Pay: 2500/- in a town.

Yes absolutely fair infact a little extra because for cooking along with this our neighbours pay 2000/-

My maid is absolutely content because she left her other job that was heavier and pair less.
