I hadn't followed earlier, but thanks to this channel on YT whose link I posted (I believe forever_freind2 runs it) I have been able to see a whole host of her past performance - from SRGMP Li'l Champs Bangla to SRGMP Li'l Champs at national level to her appearance on TV (Didi No. 1 show). Her range and versatility was really displayed on those shows as compared to II-12. I believe in their eagerness to promote Bharat Ki Beti they have really done a disservice to many other contestants.

They may have had political pressure to deal with. It seems so now after the event. But anyway, the winner was always the one to beat.

Agreed on both counts. Popular vote doesn't necessarily select the most technically accomplished artist.
