                         Humara Ashiyana

Time never stops for anyone neither it ever turns to look around the chaos it left behind, it goes on and so is life. And its been two years now for Anirudh and Bondita going with the flow of the time and the journey of life.

Since the time they met life was complicated for them but may be finally Bondita's Dugga maa wanted to give them rest blessing them with a simple life, away from all the chaos, away from all the enmity and hatred. And enjoying each other's company they didn't knew how the two years of their life went on.

Two years back, on the eve of Janmashtami when all were busy enjoying the festive, the two ran for their life. But God saved them or may be it was the strength of their love, that they reached Chandannagar sound and safe and the first thing they did was get married, they didn't expect their wedding to be like that but they had no choice and hand in hand they descended down the stairs, garlands in their neck, smile plastered in their lips and the thick red line on Bondita's hair partition claiming her his, forever.

They somehow managed to get a job in the local household concealing their identity and admist the enmity with the help of Sampoorna, Tupur and Tapur they managed to get their necessary belongings and finally making enough money in Chandannagar, they shifted to Calcutta to start their life normally. Anirudh's name helped him in getting a place in the Calcutta High Court and Bondita too joined him as they wedded couple finally settled in their personal and professional life in the least imagined way.

Now it was their 3rd Janmashtami together after their marriage, and Bondita stood in the little temple in their small house singing aarti infront of the Durga and Krishna idol placed there. Soon Anirudh joined her smiling and as she gave him the aarti he took and slightly kissing her forehead placed his palm on her cheek and wished her, "happy marriage anniversary.."  and she smiled as she replied with a glowing smile, "happy anniversary to you too Patibabu.."

And Anirudh held her shoulder as they both walked towards their living room and Bondita's eyes lingered on the photos on the wall, the photos of all the members of Roy Choudhury and Das family. It would be wrong if they said they aren't missing them because they do. They are missing all their family members terribly but they were hurt too that their closest persons choosed the dushmani over them.

Understanding her state of mind Anirudh hugged her gently from behind placing his hands softly on her belly and she smiled placing her own palms on his leaning on his chest. And they both stood like that for sometime sharing each other's pain in silence as Anirudh looked at his family above Bondita's head, he never felt week infront of her because it would pain her more.

Happy family surrounded by all the members it was what they both had always wanted but then the irony is destiny never gives the thing you desire.

It was a holiday for Janmashtami and thus after breakfast Anirudh sat in the living room with a newspaper in his hands and Bondita moved towards the temple to decorate the idol for the day.

And when she busy making garlands she was surprised to see Anirudh beside her holding the flower basket for her and astonished she asked, "aap yahan kya kar rahe hain Patibabu??"
"Kyu?? Tumhari madat",replied Anirudh sheepishly who never was bothered about the puja arrangements and then moving little close whispered in her ears, "aur bhagwaan se sifarish" and confused at his words she asked, "kaisi sifarish?? " and he smiled glancing from her face to downwards as he continued, "sifarish ki.. bahut jald hume unke jaise ek natkhat baal gopal dede.." with this he placed his hand on her 9 months baby bump smiling wide.

But instead of smiling she frowned at his statement and placing her own hands on her belly she whined, "aapse ye ummid nehi thi patibabu ke aap esa kahenge..sirf Krishna kyu Durga kyu nehi??" And understanding her words he chuckled and spoke, "kyuki choti dugaa ko mein already dekh chuka hun.. Gyara saal ki thi jab mere jiban mein ayi thi..ek dum dugga maa ka swarup hai woh toh isliye ab mujhe natkhat wala baal gopal chahiye.." and her frown subsidised hearing his statement and she rested her head on his shoulder continue tying the flowers in the string. And Anirudh kissed her hairs as he helped her with her work.

Bondita was tired after making the lunch though Anirudh was helping her in it and he brought her to their room making her sit on their bed and then moved towards the wardrobe bringing a tiny box from it. And answering her confused look he opened the content revealing a tiny pendant of gold with 'AB' written with a tiny white stone on the top of it. It was simple but enough to make Bondita's eyes welled.

He opened the chain she was wearing and putting the pendant in it he tied it around her neck once again as he softly whispered in her ears, "happy anniversary.." and placed a light kiss on her cheek. Bondita traced her hand over the letters on her neck and then held his palm clasping it tightly in between hers and gently uttered, "I love you..patibabu" and reciprocating Anirudh kissed her palms as he said, "I love you both.."  and leaning placed a kiss on her belly and caressed her cheeks. And Bondita just smiled overwhelmed with his love.

It was late afternoon and the couple were taking their nap sleeping peacefully in each other's arms, Bondita's head on his chest and Anirudh's one hand around her and the other secured on her belly. And suddenly Anirudh felt a movement bellow his palm confused he opened his eyes only to see Bondita stirring in her sleep and the next moment she welled in pain opening her eyes and Anirudh panicked seeing her as he got up. And caressing her forehead he asked, "kya hua Bondita?? Tum thik ho??" and with shaky voice she said, "I think it's the time.." and worried he asked, "doctor didi ko phone lagaun kya??" and she nodded her head and the next moment patting her head Anirudh ran out of the room, towards the telephone.

Anirudh was pacing outside his room fisting his palms tightly with every scream of hers. In between he joined his hands praying with tears in his eyes and after what felt like an eternity, he finally heard her last scream followed by a cry, for whom he was waiting since 9 months.

He marched inside the room opening the door and his face lost colour seeing a pale Bondita lying almost lifeless but the next moment his face sparkled seeing the little bundle of joy.
He took the baby in his arms walking towards Bondita giving her his widest smile and she reciprocated with a weak one.
Anirudh then sat beside her with the baby in his arms and caressing her hairs and asked gently, "thik ho naa tum??" and she nodded her head timidly. And then showing her the baby he said slowly, "humara beta Bondita.."

Her tired face curved in a smile and she motioned her hands up placing it on her son's forehead as happy tears trickled down her eyes and holding the tiny little fingers she uttered, "Kanha.." Anirudh too smiled with glassy eyes as the wish of his from the morning was now true in his arms and nodding his head he repeated her, "Kanha Roy Choudhury.."

With a lot of care Anirudh then placed his baby beside Bondita and planted two kisses one on his wife's forehead and one on the tiny hand of his son.

Bondita soon drifted to sleep with the tiredness hitting her and Anirudh sat beside running his hands on Bondita's hair and gazing his world and the emotions he felt the moment was short to describe in words. He felt contented and blessed and prayed to his Dugga maa to keep his family safe like this.

Bondita sat in their temple as she tied the mor pankha on the forehead of her 2 years old son. It was the eve of Janmashtami and she had made her Kanha look exactly like Kanha. Anirudh smiled adoring the antics of his wife and cute son and moving inside the room brought his hand camera and captured the moment. The click sound finally shifted Bondita's attention towards him and seeing the camera in his hand she smiled more widely and making her son to hold the flute with many failed attempts she gestured Anirudh who understanding her, captured the little Krishna and then Bondita too joined her son making Anirudh their photographer for the day.

Anirudh held his little boy in his arms as Bondita completed the aarti applying tilak in both's forehead and they came towards the living room smiling and laughing at the antics of their son who was uttering some incoherent sentences in Anirudh's arms.

They sat in their living room and Bondita shifted her gaze towards the wall that had the photos, along with their family now most of the photos were of Anirudh, Bondita and Kanha. Some in court clicked after winning their cases, some the initial days of their marriage and then it was of Kanha, and the moments of Anirudh and Bondita with him.

But this time smiling at those photos
Bondita said, "Patibabu pata hi nehi chala samay itne jaldi kaise bit gayaa..aaj humare shaadi ko paanch saal hogaya hai aur humare Kanha kitna chota sa tha.. Aur aaj do saal ka hogaya.."
Anirudh too nodded his head smiling a little as he said,"usdin jaan se khelkar jaise tumhe laya tha..tab yakin nehi tha zindegi ki ane wali safar itni khubsurat hogi.." and he extended his hand towards Bondita who placed her palm in his moving close to him and he wrapped his arms around her as she rested her head on his arms and their son from Anirudh's lap smiled at his parents. It was each other's presence that they carved and now their son added more colours to their life.

And replying him Bondita said," par yeh safar khubsurat ban gayi patibabu..apke sath..bas gaya humara khubsurat sa ashiyana.."
Anirudh replying her spoke, "haan..humara pyar bhara ashiyana.." and he smiled wide.

After all it is love that always sets thing right may be not immediately but definitely.
