Hello guys! First of all, the response I got in the first chapter- it was overwhelming đ. I might have spent my whole weekend reading your sweet comments..they literally made me weekend! â¤ď¸đ¤
I hope you like this next chapter! Happy reading!đ
NOTE: Guys I know that shivaâs behaviour will be very confusing in this chapter..thatâs because I am writing only about Raaviâs thoughts and not Shivaâs..and remember things are not always how they seem đ
Chapter 2
Jealousy is a green eyed monster. Raavi learned that during her English class in 8th standard. Shakespeare had quoted it in Othello and right now Raavi is feeling that exact same monster growing inside her. Getting stronger every day and slowly taking over her senses. The monster fed on the Ramya and Shivaâs growing closeness and Raavi feared the day she would lose control over it.
Raavi is standing in her balcony, twisting the ends of her dupatta between her fingers as the green eyes monster claws in when she sees Ramya and Shiva stepping out of the auto rickshaw.
Ramya is carrying not less than 5 shopping bags. She is going back to London in 2 weeks so she has made it her mission to buy the whole of Somnath. But what irks Raavi is the fact that, the guy who didnât even buy his own socks and depends on Dhara bhabhi for it, is now following Ramya around like a lost puppy through out the Somnath as she buzzes from one shop to another.
âThank so much for today Shiva. Mujhe to samajh hi nahi aa rha tha ki lime green wala too achcha lag rha tha ya pastel green. You made it so easy for me,â Ramya giggles. She is standing so close to him, twirling a lock of her shiny hair as she bates her long lashes at Shiva.
Raavi snorts. As if Shiva would even know the difference between lime green and pastel green. That bhootnath would only know one green and that would be- moongdal green.
Ramya starts walking away but Shiva calls her.
âRamya tu apna purse mere pass bhool gayi,â he says as he takes a step towards her, holding her purse out.
Ramya sprints fast enough to qualify for Olympics and closes whatever residual space was left between them.
And if this is not enough, Raavi almost gags when she sees her gently stroking her hand on Shivaâs broad chest.
The monster is begging to jump out now.
Control Raavi.
âThank you so much shiva..tum nahi hote to pata nahi mera kya hota,â Raavi lip reads Ramya because she barely whispers it in Shivaâs ears.
Yes thatâs how close they are standing. Her face so close to his ear..what if by mistake any of them moves, there lips will almost- no! No!
Raavi put a full stop on her insane thoughts which are draining the life out of her and runs back inside. She would rather eat the spiciest Mirchi of Somnath and die of it than watch Ramya and Shiva kiss.
ÂŁÂŁÂŁÂŁ
The news comes to Prafulla as nothing less than a thunderstorm. Raavi has decided to join a boarding school. She has infact found the school as well. Itâs a very posh boarding school in Dehradun. She has even already applied for it and they are also very excited to have such a bright student.
Not that Prafulla is against Raaviâs education. No sir, not at all. Infact Prafulla wants Raavi to study a lot and stand on her own feet so that she can bag Gujaratâs most eligible Bachelor and then flaunt it in front of Suman. But Dehradun? Itâs more than 100km away?!
âPar beta Raavi aise achanak? Kal tak to tu kehti thi ki tu apne mausapa aur mausima se ek pal door nahi the sakti..aur ab Dehradun?â Prafullaâs typically snarky face softens.
âAap dono ke bina rahna bahut mushkil hoga mausima, ye jaanti hu me. But Doon bahut achcha school hai. Aur me lawyer banna chaahti hu na..agar mera alma matar Doon jaisa school hoga to aage mujhe bahut help milegi,â Raavi makes up some story. Unknown to Prafulla, long distance from Somnath is the reason Raavi wants to go to Doon.
1000 km away from Somnath, from Ramya and from Shiva. Her jealousy of Ramya and Shivaâs growing closeness is affecting her mentally and she needs a break.
âPar beta Yaha Gujarat me bhi kitne achche achche school hai..tu yaha kahein chali ja na,â Prafulla tries to reason.
âNahi mausima..ye decision mene bahut soch samajh ke liya hai. Mere future ke liye yahi best hai,â Raavi says taking a deep breath.
Prafulla can compromise with anything but not her Raaviâs future. So she says yes with a heavy rock over her heart.
@@@
Raavi gathers her certificates, 10th Marksheets and other important papers and put them neatly into a clear bag.
After Prafulla said yes, Raavi wasted no time in booking her tickets as soon and possible and starting her packing.
She is about to pick up her TC when someone else reaches for it first.
âTu itni door ja rahi hai Raavi? Dehradun? Mausapa and Mausima to yaha ekdum akele hi ho jayenge,â itâs Ramya.
âAapne Lindon jane se pahle nahi socha, to me Dehradun jane se pahle kyu sochu,â Raavi curses herself under her breath. There is nothing need for her to be this rude. But now a days with Ramya, Raavi canât help it.
âMujhe laga tha jab tak teri college jane ki baari ayegi tab tak me wapas aa jaungi,â Ramya replies with a soft smile.
âHaan lekin aap London se jyada to yahin rahte ho. Me chali bhi jaungo to appki presence me mujhe kon hi miss karega,â Raavi letâs out a humourless chuckle.
âRaavi to aisa kyu sochti hai. Tujhme to Mausima aur mausapa ki jaan basti hai. Dekhna tere jane ke baad to kai din tak khana bhi nahi kha payega,â Ramya says as she lovingly strokes Raaviâs face.
Raavi forces a smile over her face.
âMeri to yahan bas ek wajah hai rukne ki, tabhi jaise hi London se fursat milti hai, bas douri chali aati hu,â Ramya blush and pushes a strand of her hair behind her ear.
Her reason of coming to Somnath is the same reason for Raavi to go away.
She canât help but imagine Ramya and Shiva together again, just enjoying eachotherâs company and completely forgetting about anything else.
Her vision gets blurry as she feels tears trickling her eyes again. She quickly rubs them off.
âAchcha di mujhe abhi bahut packing karni hai, baad me baat karti hu,â she musters up all her energy to give the most genuine smile that she can to Ramya and moves out of the room.
***
The next night.
Raavi is sorting which cloths to take to Doon and which not. Unlike the pleasant whether of Somnath, it will be chilly in Dehradun. She doesnât even have many full sleeve tops. Only a couple.
Prafulla even asked her to go on shopping to buy new cloths and when Raavi, the biggest shopaholic Somnath might have ever seen said no, everyoneâs jaw dropped. She said she has enough cloths and if she would need anything, she would buy in Dehradun.
And the reason of Raavi not going forward shipping was something no one would be able to guess. She doesnât wanna run into anyone from Pandya house while shoping. What will she even answer them when Dhara Bhabhi or krish or anyone else sees her buying a sweater. There is no way she can tell them that itâs for her boarding school 1000km away.
Theyâll all try to stop her and what scared her thr most is, what if they tell shiva. She doesnât wanna face him now.
She rather freeze to death in a crop top in Dehradun than face Shiva right.
For the record she has still not replied to his texts. It has been almost a month. The longest they have gone without talking.
She walks to her wardrobe to scrounge for more cloths when a hand comes of nowhere, grabs her wrist and next thing she knows is that she is pressed against her bedroom wall and a very furious Shiva breathing down her neck.
âBol de ki ye jhooth hi ki to Dehradun ja rahi hai,â Shiva growls, his angry eyes shining almost like two rubies in the dim light.
He has both his hands on either side of her on the wall, capturing her in the tiny cage made by of his own body.
He is so close to her, she can smell his characteristic spicy cologne.
âBol ki to mujhe chodh kar nahi jaa rahi,â Shiva demands.
Raavi who was till now lost in his cologne comes back to her senses and feels the anger build up in her as well.
âNahi sach hai. Me jaa rahi hu Dehradun. Aur wo bhi kal hi,â Raavi says, glaring back at him, trying to match the intensity.
If itâs a game then she wonât back down.
If shiva was already not furious enough he looked murderous now.
And before Raavi can comprehend anything one of his hands snakes around Raavi waist, pulling her torso closer and making her body collide, sending millions of sparks down Raaviâs body.
Raavi almost forgets to breath. The way her body and mind are reacting to being in such close proximity I himâŚitâs just not fair.
âKyu kar rahi hai tu ye sab? 1 mahine se mere calls ya message ka bhi jawaab nahi de rahi. Tujhe pata hai kitna mushkil tha ye mahina mere liye. Bachpan se aaj tak ek din nahi kata mene tujhse lade ya baat kiye bina. Aisa lag tha tha ki jaise kisi ne mere dil par itna bada patthar rakh diya ho,â Shiva says in a pleading voice.
His eyes hold so much pain but Raavi decides that she wonât let her heart melt. It took a lot of will and strength in staying away from Shiva and then deciding to move away. Canât afford to have any moment of weakness now.
So she stays quite.
And can she even stay? That the reason she was not taking to him and ignored him like a plague was because she was jealous of his and her sisterâs closeness. How pathetic.
âTu kuch bol kyu nahi rahi hai? Waise to teri jabaan kaichi ki tarah chalta hai, to aaj kyu chup hai?â Shiva asks again as he pushes his body against her once more.
Each time his breath will fall on her neck, Raavi feels a jolt of electricity running down her spine.
She needs to stop this now, she decides.
She brings her hands between them and pushes him away. Shiva, who didnât expect it, stumbles a back.
âMein busy thi,â she says, her voice monotonous and looks away, finding it very hard to look into his eyes.
âBusy thi? Tu busy thi Raavi? Bachpan se le kar aajtak tune mujhse lade jhagde ek din nahi rehi aur ab achanak se tu busy ho gayi?â Shiva demands again.
But Raavi keeps standing in her spot, her legs glued and face turned away.
âAur ye nazre kyu chipa rahi hai-â he grabs her face by her chin and turns her towards him â-meri taraf dekh aur bata kya baat hai Raavi?â He asks.
Raavi bite her lips.
âHey Somnath baba please save meâ she prays.
âShiva koi baat nahi hai,â she gulps.
And then just like that, all the anger from Shivaâs face disappears and his facial muscles and body relaxes. He holds Raaviâs face with both his hands, so gentally as if she is made up of glass.
âMujhse kuch galati hui hai kya Raavi? Hui hai to bata. Mein maafi mangne ke liye teyar hu. Tu jitani baar kahegi utani baar maafi mangunga, jo kahegi bilkul waisa hi karunga but aise mujhe chod kar mat ja,â he begs, his eyes furrowed and he holds on her, scared that she might disappear if he lets go.
âShiva-â
âAgar tu meri kisi galati ki wajah se itani door ja rahi hai, to please aisa mat kar-â
Before Shiva can complete his sentence, anger takes over Raavi again.
âMeri life sirf tere around revolve nahi karati Shiva aur nahi me apni life ka har decision teri wajah se leti hu. Dehradun jane ka decision mere khud ke liye hai. Usse tera koi lena dena nahi hai,â Raavi yells.
She feels tired. Tired of her life always being about others. Since childhood itâs has always been about Ramya and now it was becoming about Shiva. She canât let that happen. Shiva might have been the pushing factor but going to Dehradun is about her and her own mental health.
And no one can stop her from going. Not even Shiva.
âHaan theek hai, mana ki teri life mere around revolve nahi karti par mera itna to janne ka haq tha na ki tu ja rahi hai. Kab batane wali thi mujhe Raavi? Jane ke baad?Aur Dhara bhabhi, Krish aur Dev? Ye sab bhi to tujhe kitna pyaar karte hai na? Inko bhi bataye bina chali jaati tu?â Shiva accuses, invading his private space again, standing close enough to listen to her racing heart.
Raavi starts taking longer breaths to calm her racing heart but it works the opposite way. The harder the breaths, the more she takes in his cinnamon cologne and the more she just wants to get as closer as possible to him and inhale all of him.
âKal jane se pahle me sabse milne jaati aur tabhi sabko batati,â she says, trying her best to stay in her senses.
âFormality Puri karti iska matlab? Mujhe bhi fir aise hi batati ki jaa rahi hai? Tujhe ho kya gya hai Raavi? To aisi to bilkul bhi nahi thi? Tu meri Raavi nahi hai..â Shiva says as he lets go of her and steps back, looking at the person in front of him in disbelief. Same but very different.
âHaan nahi hu me teri Raavi,â Raavi says sternly as she folds her hands against her chest.
Something inside Shiva snaps, his eyes again filled with wrath. Within seconds he was in front of Raavi, faces just centimetres apart and noses almost touching.
âTune agar zid kar hi lee hai to theek hai. Jaa. But ek baat yaad rakhna Raavi, jab tujhe realise ho ki tune kya galat kiya hai, tab tak kahi bahut der na ho jaye.â Saying that Shiva turns back and jumps out of her window, probably from where he came.
But Raavi just keeps standing in her spot, biting her lips, not letting her soft whimpers escape.
If this is how itâs supposed to be..then so be it.
So how was it?? I hope you liked it! Please donât forget to tell me your views in the comment box!đ
