I don't have a brother, but I feel it's not fair that we expect the men to always buy gifts, give money and be the protector of the girls. Here in tamil culture, they also expect your Mom's brother to give gifts/money to their nieces and nephews occasionally. I pity the men for this.

in Raksha Bandhan both give gifts. It is a fun way to bond nothing to do with the materliasm.
