Because it was supposed to be a fun element in the show rather than being cringy and it's the job that an actor has to eventually do. You have creative difference you put out your point but there are times when the director has something on his mind regarding the scene. Hence he refuses and if he does then the act eventually has to end up doing the scene ( these do not include explicit scenes. If it is an extremely uncomfortable scene the actor has a choice to walk away and refuse) . But in my opinion like everyone else's i don't think it was something really extreme to have fought on.
Even Sai had pointed out at times that the director refused a certain improvisation because he had a vision hence they had to move according to the script.
