I get your point. The Chavan's reaction is something expected, imo. They never treat Pakhi like how they treat the other Bahus, inclusive of Sai, Karishma and Ashwini. Coz she has created this most respectful daughter in law with great values and keeps on buttering them up, which makes them think they're all so lucky to have her. Only if they have seen how fake she can be.

And what I meant by whitewashing is not happening is through a viewer's point of view. She was still not seeing the faults in her and how she's still thinking of Virat and trying to create issues between SaiRat. And behaving as if she was waiting like Urmila waited for Lakshman and Samrat isn't seeing the Mahaan aatma in her. So she's still shown as a kameeni, imo. Strictly my opinion. Different people different perspectives.😊

Sunny was stopped by Virat last time right? He would be asking Pakhi if it was just Virat with them. He would think before speaking anything. He would think whether Virat would be okay for him to speak those or not. Because if he knows the truth, Virat also knows right? Then he would have to think that when Virat himself is not asking or saying anything, how can he ask those. Sunny would have asked if it was just him and Pakhi.
