Anyway 👏🤗 for your analysis

Thank you 🤗 It was honestly the only way they could have set this up (even if not formally diagnosed- no matter hum kitna bhi bol rahe they ki dadi ka asylum ke liye form bharo😆). ANything else and they would have had to drag this out even more and I think they were focused on giving a happy ending more than the potential plot holes they were leaving.

Today's ep gave me a small sense of vindication and satisfaction mainly because of Ahaan's character development. And Sonu's. And maybe Sarla's (she acted calm for once and asked questions which was in itself, VERY surprising)

Today Ahaan & Sonu were best.

As for Sarla, Maybe because Ginny the troublemaker wasn't there.

Yaar jo bhi kaho about today's ep- if we look at it from a completely fictional point of view, there is a small sense of vindication. Yes the writers weren't at their peak performance (for the last 2 weeks, let's be honest 😆), but they did the best they could with the time they had. Remember that nobody even started talking about S2 until 3 weeks after we got the off-air news (and I doubt it reached the writers' room soon enough for them to set things up). They've left a lot of loose ends for S2 though (Mayank, Old-age home, drunk ahaan/ishqi etc)

Now onto my usual psychoanalysis (that absolutely nobody asked for):

Trying to strangle Ishqi- she honestly gives my dementia patient vibes. Almost manic-like. She displays all the signs of someone who is imbalanced. She was headed there anyway. the shock of seeing her son being abusive and an alcoholic may have been the trigger for her, and the extreme defensiveness of her son would be part of her delusion that her nuclear internal family is alright. Then, when Savvy was in the asylum, there was safety in her mind, so that manic part retreated and clarity prevailed (but not enough to do away with manic episodes which is what led her to keep a check on Savvy). The entrance of "nosy" ishqi kind of accelerated the entire process and then when Savvy made a re-appearance, the manic-ness and delusions (now with the added paranoia) returned with a vengeance. In today's ep she really saw Ishqi as the final root of her problems, being able to pin everything on her would be convenient in her mind, bc na rahega bhans, na bajegi bansuri. In her mind, if Ishqi is gone, Ahaan would have renounced his mother because all his life, Dadi has been the right one for him and the only reason he was supporting Savvy is bc of Ishqi.

let's focus on dadi and why leaving her by her lonesome might be an okay outcome- In geriatric individuals getting on in years, there is nothing worse than being left alone. We see it time and time again with abandoned seniors. In those cases, it's usually unknowing abandonment but here, there is a purpose and they are leaving after telling her the reason why they are leaving. Sometimes, a "punishment" is not necessary (though it would have been fun to watch lol 😆). The knowledge that you have lost everything due to your own actions is a powerful weapon. But couple that with the fact that she is forced to first watch her family enjoy themselves (without her, and celebrate it) and then be forced to participate in that same celebration must be torture for a woman who thrives on family and their support. It's almost cruel to do this to someone (dangle their greatest wish in front of them and then snatch it away just as they've almost got it)

And that concludes my analysis. Jootas, chappals, gaalis, and most importantly constructive criticism accepted in inbox. 😆

Love you all!

Ps. Mere andar se ek story phoot phoot ke nikal rahi hai for the old Ishqaan. Likun kya? I have time this weekend, lekin motivation hi nahin ho raha since tomorrow's the end and....yeah 😭😭😭

I love how you went in depth with what Dadi's mental health may be in. If I'm honest I did get vibes of mental instability from her, but often brushed it off considering this is ITV, and there's ntg as 'mental health' in here🤔. They either the giving competition to angels type good or bad that makes Satan fall in shame.😆

I completely agree on the type of punishment that'll hurt her the most- because she done whatever she did with the intention of keeping everyone and everything for- and to herself; and now that she sees herself losing everyone and everything despite everything that she'd done along a long period of 20 years will be the biggest punishment she could get, because her mind, her focus will be on the disliked outcome rather than her getting arrested or sent to an asylum.

By the way, if you don't mind me asking, are you a psychologist?😊

Ps. Pleaaasseee do write whatever you're thinking on! Your works are a treat❤️
