Take Gaumbi's dialogues from today. Imo, his anger was a bit irrational, especially when Shiva was admitting his fault and giving an honest explanation. Instead of understanding the underlying insecurities, he kept attacking Shiva. šŸ˜’ Now if he'd said those same lines in a sad and disappointed tone, I may still think that he could guide them. But right now, his scenes are filler scenes.

Sometimes I wonder who tells the actor what emotion to express...is it the writer/director or the actor who decides the tone if voice. Regardless of the dialogues, sometimes the emotions resonate more.

That scene was so messed up.so messed up.

Today they decided to ruin gaumbi toošŸ‘

His anger made no sense!sarcasm, taana, disappointment would make sense.but why he was angry with shiva after learning his problem.whats wrong with pandiyas???

And whats this new love to the word respect??there was nothing related to respect in that brothers convo.

From where that came gaumbi?

Ma bete sab bol raha hai..without respecting anyone themselves!!

I was half expecting gaumbi to get out of baranda & tell dev he was doing reverse psychology on shiva.Something like telling shiva on his face that yes-you are bad & u never did anything good to deserve raavi to make shiva react. I was really expecting that.

But no sort of that convo.then gaumbi dhara didn’t even talk about shiva themselve?really? After knowing why shiva did all this?

And they call themselves parent??

Urgggggggggg...whats wrong with the makers????

Note: i loved the rest of the epi though..all the convos were really really awesome.all other interactions were nice today

Everything is wrong with the makers. If you are a parent especially when dealing with sensitive matters of your children never lose your coolšŸ˜• This is from my personal experience of raising 2 teenagers.

I mentioned this in a previous EDT’, a while ago that the makers are meticulously and mercilessly destroying every single character we came to lovešŸ˜•

Maybe the makers want to show that none of the family could help shivi in this mess..as it is too messed-up right now with both of them unwilling to understand...if gombi had infact behaved the way he talked with rishitha during haveli times, I am sure there would have been no point for shiva to not understand..like all gombi had to do was to tell him and ask raavi what she thinks..and then let her decide whether he is worth her or not..but then the drama and pain wont stretch..šŸ˜†..so they made gombi not understand shiva...he just lost his patience when shiva again repeated his insecurity. And gombi was never good at helping shiva come out of his insecurity...last time he told shiva to see himself from their eyes to know his worth..I dnt think that is any effective way to help him..shiva has to see for himself that he is worthy..

Gaumbi and his Insensitivity:

Gaumbi has always been that man who grew up faster to shoulder responsibilities. Unlike Shiva, who always willingly grew up, Gaumbi took Up the Duties out Of unfavourable situations.

We have always seen him prioritising respect and family more than love. If you watch a few initial episodes, you'd remember how he loved Anita but always kept his responsibilities ahead. Dhara was her sukoon when she entered his life and sheltered him from some of his blistering duties.

He isn't a passionate lover but an immensely romantic and loving husband. For him, marriage is above love; sacrifice is an honour, and compromise is a necessity.

If we go back to the wedding fiasco, we all blame Dhara, but if you see Gautam, he was insensitive. He asked Dev to compromise, and he will eventually fall in love.

So, I don't see anything out of his character when he scolded Shiva. He hasn't been melodramatic, and despite standing up for Dhara, he hasn't been an active husband to prevent Dhara from taunts etc. Suman throwing her blowups on Dhara is a testimony of that.

Gautam belongs to the thought cycle of the family being together.

He has been a paternal figure, but he hasn't been emotionally Close to His brothers As a friend or confidante.

None of them shares that intimate camaraderie. Their bond is very familiar, and that's why I always wanted to see Shiva with some of his friends.

Dev tries to come closer to Shiva, but Shiva has always had a love-hate relationship with him.

I have always said Raavi will have access to Shiva’s thoughts in a way that no one else can.

He never opens up, but with Raavi, she brings out the worst in him. It's as if Raavi facilitates the scraping out of the poison he drinks to keep his fears to himself, and he vomits them, scathing her back.

There was an interview a couple of years ago where Butch Hartman (creator of Danny Phantom) spoke about the character designs of the main couple. He initially wanted the main couple to be able to communicate through their thoughts, but later changed it so the ML and FL sensed each others inner worries and fears before anyone else.

With the childhood buildup, I thought Shiva and Raavi would be the same, having some sort of telepathic communication style, especially with the many times of how other characters alluded to them living in their own world. Maybe I gave too much credit to Raavi... it seems like she truly did love Dev... enough to not understand or see Shiva beyond being Dev's little brother... since it seems like Shiva understands her slightly more (though, I think it's because he has fallen for her and has become more aware of her thoughts and not so much due to their childhood history).

I'm really hoping in the future, they share a bond that I've always wished for them to have! One where they know exactly what's happening based on the slightest of expression changes. One where, Raavi sees the small flicker in Shiva's eyes and immediately reaches out to grab his hand so he can't do further damage.
