It's definitely not. I for one, wanted him to hit his friends and wanted her to take a firmer stand. I thought this was their reaction to the synopsis wherein it said, she has a breakdown after a public humiliation and it makes sense with the story.

Rest I'm definitely not in favour of Shiva taking the entire fall for it.
