As expected maan don't trusted on geet story and now keeping her with him without her will geet want to go away asap

Thank you for the update. It’s getting interesting. So geet is now in his possession? She will soon realise it’s the safest shelter to stay in.

How can maan just assume she is lying....but so glad geet got some strength and answered him back...i am sure he will take that into consideration....and he will for sure check her out...

but for now, geet is in a better place for sure...she has a roof over her head, she is fed, has a good bed to sleep on...just that she is kept under duress....

Chapter 5

Interesting chapter!!

Maan is sceptical of geet’s truth

Guess he does not trust easily, especially if he goes around shooting people in alleys

Geet is intimidated & who wouldn’t be....... being interrogated by a large man with a gun on his table ...,,, not to mention the shooting incident

But I like how she spoke up

However ...,, geet is in his possession!! 😳

Well at least she won’t be homeless for now & it is safer than living on the streets

Lovely update, good that maan wasn’t going to hurt geet. And it is better for Geet to stay there for the time being as she has no where to go.

Chapter 4

Ok I have no words to describe that now have I...? But one thing was certain that if by any chance I'mma got kidnapping like that I'm not gonna run. Come on! I mean COME ON! Seriously..... ? Seriously this house is a freaking puzzle maze and who knows what lurks around the hallways and behind those closed doors.... And that gun.... Damn... I'mma stay put until I could figure out something useful than running cause one snapping pull at that trigger then I'm six feet under man... And the worst part is she's alone.... She's freaking alone in an office room with a Man who knows how to use a freaking GUN.... I'mma go crazy of the happenings here... 🤗

Chapter 5

Ok now I get what those thin stack of papers are... Whoa that was a bold move to challenge a lion in his own den and expect that you return in one piece...? Sick move girl... But still terrified aren't we now...? Damn... And the amusing part was the temporary bravery that sparked up with the gun now tucked away in the drawer...😏. Now that the cute little bunny is in the Big Bad Lion's den I don't think it's nice to attempt a fight without a strategy or anticipation of the attack.... Ok with all said and done has he gone nuts to just dismiss of her... Just like that... Ugh HELLO Mr smarty-pants Mafia guy did you forget about the fact you have a freaking puzzle maze for a house...? I mean how is she supposed to get back to her room on her own this house of yours needs a freaking map with each and every turns, hallways and stairs I mean how huge is this house anyway.... I'm freaking out because of the house.... I really like the way you narrate about the things around.... Nice... Good writing....🤗

Chapter 6

After being sent away from Maan’s office, Geet tried retracing her steps back to “her” room. The house was such a labyrinth, however, that she was lost within minutes. At some point, she climbed down the wrong staircase, and she was sure that she was now in the wrong wing of the house.

Overwhelmed by all of the events that had taken place in such a short span of time, Geet stopped to lean against a wall by a painting of a landscape. Thunder sounded again outside as she slumped down to the floor behind a large vase, wrapping her arms around her knees. She wished she had had enough courage to fight back against Maan in his office, but she was too mentally exhausted. Plus, part of her was grateful that she wasn’t still out on the street, especially during a storm and without a plan of where to go once the sun came up.

But she was trapped in the house of a stranger. A dangerous stranger. She wasn’t sure exactly who Maan was, but it certainly *seemed* like he was a gangster, the boss of a gang that had felled a man in a dark alley.

Geet’s ears perked up as she heard footsteps coming down the hallway. Her eyes widened as she tried to shrink behind the vase to make herself as small as possible. A short distance away, she heard the footsteps halt as Maan and another man began to converse.

“This folder has all of the affidavits,” Maan was saying. “Keep them under lock and key.”

“Yes, sir,” came another man’s voice. Geet allowed herself to peek behind the vase. The other man looked unfamiliar and was, unsurprisingly, wearing all black.

The man accepted the folder from Maan and tucked it under his arm. “What about the girl who was there tonight?” he asked.

“Such a thorn in my side.” Maan slammed his hand on the railing leading toward a staircase. “She says she didn’t see who fired the gun. Even if I believe her, so what? She could still go to the police and say she saw us gathering and that there was gun violence. Viper is dead and gone. You know we’ve been on the Commissioner’s radar since last spring. So far we’ve been able to lay low, but not if she opens her mouth.”

The man let out a low *tsk.*

Maan continued, “She’s going to stay here and, if she knows what’s good for her, not cause any trouble. Run a full background check on her as soon as possible. She says her name is Geet Handa.”

It took another full hour for Geet to finally make her way to the correct wing where her room was located. It was a wonder that Maan and his subordinate hadn’t seen her. Shortly after their conversation, the man had left and Maan walked up another staircase, presumably to his room. Or, more likely, his master suite.

It was so late that Geet had no energy to think a single thought. She fell into her new bed in her new clothes and, for the time being, her new life.
