Chapter 5:

" Good morning Jodha "...said Moti with a smile. Jodha also replied with a smile on her face saying...

" Good...morn...morning...Moti".

Moti..." Aww...look at you, your smile has grown a little bigger, is it because of your handsome husband? " ... But Jodha became sad and looked without responding to Moti's words. Moti is confused seeing Jodha's sad face , approaching her friend, Moti asked..

"what's wrong Jodha, why are you upset, don't tell me Jalal doesn't remember you "

Jodha tears poured down from her eyes...

"It's..not..ab...about...that..Moti...how..can..he... rec....recognize.... me.... when....when.... he.... av....avoids.... me, he ... haven't...glanced...at..me..once. "

Moti..." What?! ...but why"

Jodha... " He.... hates... me.... be...because...of ......this.... mar...marriage... Moti"..and told everything happened to her.

Moti worries thinking.... " Oh God why should it be like this, I expected Jodha's husband will love her so much when he comes know who she is but what to do with this situation, God please help my friend "

Jodha... "Moti" , seeing her best friend still being silent, Jodha again called her making Moti come out of her thoughts.

Moti..." Yes Jodha "

Jodha... " About... the.. op..operation "

Moti... " Oh yes Jodha, The doctor said the operation went well but she told us to meet her because she wanted to convey an important news to you about Granny Amul's health. Later we'll go to the hospital, okay. "

Jodha... "okk...Where...iss...Reva?"

Moti..." I sent her to buy some ingredients, she'll arrive soon, come we'll began our work"

Jodha responding Moti with a nod, both went to the kitchen to prepare some bakery products. Soon Reva, a beautiful girl arrived near the door shouting... "Moti!! Jodha!! I'm home"

Moti shouted from the kitchen.. " Reva, we are in the kitchen"

Keeping the bakery stuffs in the table, Reva hugged Jodha saying... "Jodha!!!"

With a smile Jodha said... "Good morning Reva"

Reva... " How was the... " Reva hanged her sentence when Moti intruded with a signal not to ask anything further so Reva kept quiet with confusion. But Reva not sure what happened asked..

" Is anything wrong?" . Jodha knew where the talk leads now so she stayed silent and let Moti speak...

"It's a problem Reva, Jalal avoids Jodha for..for he hates this marriage, he have also forbidden his cousins to approach her. And the most worst thing is Jalal didn't even know who is Jodha still now , he have not seen her face yet"...

Reva looked worried for Jodha... " I'm sorry for the situation you are feeling now Jodha"

Jodha with sparkle in her eyes... "It's... okk..Reva..I... hope... this... wou..would.... change... some...day"

Moti and Reva smiled as they knew though Jodha is weak physically and mentally she still holds onto the hope everytime when the worst sorrows hit her. To vanish this awkward situation, Jodha invited them to work and then the three friends started their daily chores making cookies, muffins, cupcakes, cakes...then these bakery items are taken to the two nearest bakery as both the bakery owners are well known to them, this has become their work for the past three years.

It was afternoon when they finished many of the works and had their lunch. Then Jodha and Moti went to the ABC Hospital while Reva stayed at home to wait for the delivery boy who would pick up the bakery items. In the Hospital, Jodha was with sad and hopeful eyes holding an old woman's hand who was resting as wires are attached to her body. Beside her was Moti also looking sad and trying to calm Jodha. The nurse came in saying....

" You can now see Dr. Sheela"

Moti... " Thank you sister, we'll be there" then looking at Jodha... " Come Jodha, we'll meet the Doctor". Then both the friends arrived in Dr. Sheela's room. Greeting each other, Dr. Sheela whose appearance looked like above the age of forty told them to occupy the seats.

Jodha... " Doctor, how is my Granny "

Doctor... " Miss Jodha, this would be hard for you to hear this news but as a Doctor I have to tell your Grandma's condition. " Both the girls panicked over the doctor's words.

Moti... " But madam the operation was a success right? "

Doctor... " Of course Miss Moti, but what the thing is ... (sighs)... your grandma can't make it for many days" ...it was a thunderstruck for both the friends. Moti saw Jodha being silent and then...

Jodha..."Please Excuse me doctor".

The doctor and said to Moti..."Miss Moti.. I think your friend needs you... Don't let her situation worst too"

Moti looking sad... " Yes doctor"

Coming out of the room, Moti went to the room where Granny Amul was hospitalized, seeing Jodha was not there, she searched her everywhere... couldn't able to find her friend she went to the park attached to the hospital. She found Jodha sitting on a bench and sobbing. Moti occupied the place near her friend, when Jodha saw Moti she hugged her friend and cried out the bitterness in her. Moti too was crying and comforting her.

In the Khans Mansion, Atgha was busy getting ready catch a flight in one and a half hour cause he received a call from one of the branches of the Khans Multi Company in Malaysia is facing an issue. Beside him was Jiji Anga helping him.

Jiji Anga... " Should you really have to go all of a sudden, you have the important meeting in the evening "

Atgha... "Yes Jiji, actually the meeting which is to happen today has been postponed tomorrow . I could not attend the meeting but Jalal, Hamida sis and also the boys will be there. That's enough if they attend the meeting "

Jiji Anga ... "Then about the deal with HEM "

Atgha with a deep breath... " All I expect that Jalal will make a good decision ".

And within some minutes, getting into the car... he waved his hand to his wife and sister ...then the car headed towards the direction of the airport.

It was evening when the members of the family were having a family conversation in the backyard , if Maham arrives there this beautiful moment of jokes and fun will be replaced with Business talks and boring concepts but gladly Maham didn't arrived there yet. Not far from the happy family, there were a pair of eyes targeting the family with cold eyes. It was Maham..."Soon I will ruin this family, they will all be in streets or will die". Resham was beside Maham hearing these words of hatred...

" But madam, you are saying this dialogue for many years...there are no signs that shows the fall of this family". Hearing this Maham smirk gone and glanced Resham with a glare.

Maham... " Resham you have been my assistant for years but you didn't understand me well. These many years of my deeds will bear the fruit soon. And that will surely be the fall of Khans Family". They both laughed with mockery. Then she thought of making Ruquaiya as Jalal's wife by getting rid of Jodha so she decided to fill everyone's mind against Jodha. She walked to the backyard where the family was chatting....

Maham... "Good evening everyone ". the laughter of the family gone but not for Jalal who likes Maham's presence , only smiles and silence on their faces they greeted Maham back. Maham sat on a chair, glancing at everyone she asked Hamida while searching for someone...

"Hamida, where is your daughter-in-law? "...Jalal's face became hardened, his brothers and sisters remained silent , Gulbadan and Jiji Anga frowned over Maham's sudden question.

Hamida with a smile... " She has gone for her work"

Maham... " Then, when will she reach home?"

Hamida... " She will return approximately after 9 pm"

Maham thought...

" this is interesting, she goes for work and returns lately at night so this might give a way to make Jalal and Ruquaiya come closer"

Maham like a tempting serpent... " But Hamida ...what if she is unchaste , she will definitely run away someday taking our property with her and we have to regret after that. " Hamida was controlling her anger, Gulbadan and Jiji Anga expected this from Maham while the others still maintain silence but for Jalal there was increasing hatred for his wife. Hamida wanted to shut Maham's mouth so she said still having a smile on her face ...

" No she won't, because she is does not masks herself with fake concerns for the family and stabbing on their back...she is a hard worker who earns on her own and shares with with others. "

Hearing these words from Hamida everyone looked confused but Maham's face turned pale as she could feel the words are a part of blaming. She wondered...

" Does Hamida started to know who I am"

Maham with fear tried to compose herself said... " I appreciate the trust you have in your daughter-in-law Hamida but don't regret later. Now excuse me.... I'm feeling exhausted... I'll go to my room. "

Jalal... " Badiammi, are you sick? Let me help you". He was about to stand up but Maham forbade him.

After she left Abdul said... " She won't live peacefully and also won't allow anyone to live peacefully " . Jalal glared towards Abdul hearing the words and asked with a strict face...

" You said something Abdul?"

Abdul who knew that this speech was heard by Maham's follower immediately managed to escape by saying...

" Yes Jalal, I said we have to learn from Badiammi ....how to live our life peacefully". Jalal got a call so he immediately left the place excusing him. When Abdul turned towards the other people around him they gave their sharp gazes .

Abdul... " Did I say something wrong? "

All the members in a casual tone replied... " Liar" and left the place. Abdul shuddered his shoulders.

Rushing to her room Maham locked the door with a sweating face...

" Does... does..Hamida doubts me or does she knows my real identity. " holding her face with her both hands she said with a smirk... " no..no... hamida can't really know me I played my tricks well for these years..... Hamida if you come in my way ...then you will be no more" then the room filled with an evil laughter.

It has become night, Moti and Reva pursuaded Jodha to go home and take rest , Reva accompanied Jodha until she reached Khans Mansion entrance gate. Reaching the Khans Mansion, Jodha went to Hamida's room. Hamida looked at Jodha who was silent and her eyes seemed gloomy. Hamida suddenly hugged Jodha saying... " Only few hours ago I heard it from Sheela.... Don't worry child we are there for you" . Jodha slept on Hamida's lap after tired of sobbing.

It has been almost two weeks, still now Jalal and his cousins haven't yet known the appearance of Jodha because of Jalal's hatred and forbiddence.

It was the day of reopening for the first year Post Graduates. So Salima , Mirza and Aziz were so excited to meet some of the old friends who would also continue studying in the same university. But Bakshi was now even more worried because she regarded it as a disaster.

But not only them, also Jodha was getting ready to go to the university.

Afters the brothers and sisters left , sometimes later Jodha too left for the University after saying bye to her mother-in-law and the other elders.

In the XYZ University campus,soon the classes would begin.. in the First year class of the MBA, Moti and Reva entered the class after receiving a call from Jodha as she told them to go to the class and forbid them waiting for her. Reva saw most of the place occupied but Salima with a smiling face waved her hand and invited them, both smiled and sat with Salima introducing each other. Jodha was late reaching the University, so asked one of the senior girls the way for the department of Business Administratiom. But the girls wanted to make fun so they did not told the right direction. Jodha was confused when she reached the park of the University, she thought... "is this a shortcut to the blocks?"

Not sure of the way while looking here and there she suddenly bumped into a person without balancing the two of them fell on the flat and smooth grassy ground. She was below him and he was above her , they were so closer.
