The Kohlis are from the middle class and hail from Delhi. They have four daughters who are young ladies ready to get married. Kulraj Kohli (Himani Shivpuri) loves to complain all the time about her husband (Raju Kher) not having a good enough income to support the family, as he is only a professor. Kulraj has fantastic dreams of getting her daughters married into rich families and constantly strives towards this goal. In the meanwhile, her husband is subjected to her acid tongue and constant griping about their lifestyle.
