Yeah they have gotten whiplash writing for sure. While shiva is aggressive and angry with raavi and its not fair to her Dev is passive aggressive with rishita and seems to put her down whenever he feels like it. Even when she makes practical suggestions he dismisses them never even thinking of taking into consideration. He constantly bad mouths her family yeah they are bad but there are better ways to criticize them. Dev under the guise of the gentleman garb is able to act toxic with his wife and no one questions his behaviour.
