I think few are also questioning the double standards of our society. I don't know his intention but it comes very patriarchal where men are busy swooning over young girls while wives are busy tending after their newborns.

One can appreciate beauty without sounding lewd and gross about someone's beauty.

If you read my post, you will see that it is in gender-neutral language. It is natural for anyone to experience attraction or arousal by people who are not their significant others. Having a separate standard for oneself and a different one for your significant other is hypocritical.

When it comes to expressing appreciation for someone's beauty or body, I think it is all very subjective and there are many fine lines. I don't know exactly what is right and appropriate - but these are the guiding principles I believe to be right.

- You always acknowledge that the person you are commenting on is a whole human with their own identity and agency. They are more than the sum of their parts, and you have to make an effort to see their whole selves.

- Say something you wouldn't be embarrassed to say in person to that person in their face. Say something that wouldn't offend someone if you said it to their face. [Crude thoughts happen. You might see cleavage and involuntarily think "nice titties," but there should be some sort of filter before you put it out there. And that is what bffs are for, to dump your inappropriate thoughts on so you don't behave in civilized society like some creepy lech]

- Be mindful of what your significant other thinks and feels. If what you say or do is making them insecure or uncomfortable - either cut it out or give them the opportunity to be with someone who cares to make them feel secure and comfortable.
