When you remove your bebolove filter from your eyes maybe you can understand that people here are talking about naming kids after invaders like timur the lame or jahangir. It has nothing to do with other muslim names which are absolutely fine.

Maybe go up and read my post on the Pune hospital with the same name as Saif's son. Maybe they should shut the hospital down? 😱

this entire thread has had numerous comments about how the Indian context is important and that these names wouldn't offense in any other country and yo have to keep India in mind. Yet there's an entire branch of hospitals with the same name and nobody up until today was offended? This hospital is in India right?

You know, I've realized there's not much awareness about common muslim names. That's why I think folks automatically equate some emperor centuries before and don't realize how common the name itself is.

Even in movies; they recycle the same names for Muslim characters, and just recently have become more diverse. Strangely enough, Taimur was actually used in a movie long before the birth of Kareena's son! Nawauzdin's character in Talaash was named Taimur. Anyone remember?

Isnt Jehangir Akbar’s son Salim name? How was he controversial like Taimur? As far as I have read, Salim/Jehangir was liked a lot by both Muslims and Hindus as he was liberal like his father and he was half Hindu too because of his mother.

I think Saif named this newborn as Jehangir because he still lives in past of being nawab and think his sons should also have royalty names associated with emperors from the past.
