Shivis journey
The family return from the yatra after many kands and obstacles. During this time shiva and raavi had minimal interaction. Shiva was still upset about the fact he wasn’t or will never be good enough for raavi. First sneha and then her two guy friends.
Raavi is sitting in her room thinking maybe the yatra has cleared shivas mind a little bit hopefully he’ll speak to me properly and stay in this room. She waits.
Shiva comes in to the room takes his pillow and is about to leave when raavi asks where you going? He says I’m going to sleep in the aangan and is about to go when raavi says rukh. She gets up from the bed and says you can’t go anywhere. How is our life meant to work when we don’t talk to each other when we can’t understand each other, when you don’t give me a reason behind your rudeness?
Shiva says look raavi we’re not compatible so what’s the point? We’re better off not speaking to each other there’ll be peace on both of our minds and in the house. She says how can we compatible if we don’t talk and clear whatever reason you’re always angry?
Tujhe sunna hai? Acha sun raavi I’m tired of feeling like this, I’m tired of not feeling good enough, I know you deserve better but you being embarrassed to introduce me to your friends? The only difference is I can’t control my emotions so I show outbursts wrong fully and you hide your emotions.
Raavi says areh voh I didn’t know where you would be, shiva cuts raavi off and says leave it raavi it’s fine, I know your the most beautiful girl in the world and you deserve the best so I’ll have to do something and don’t worry by tomorrow everything will start to fall in place. Shiva gives raavi a half smile and goes.
Raavi is confused, what was boothnath going to do? Also why does it matter to him that I didn’t introduce him? I thought he’d be angry as he always is. She turns the lights off and goes to sleep with a lot of questions in her mind.
Shiva calls the lawyer and says are the papers ready? The lawyers says yes, you can pick it up at 7am. Shiva goes to sleep with the alarm set for 6:30.
The next morning shiva quickly wakes up and leaves and goes to the office. He looks at the papers with a mixture of hurt and peace that his chipkali would be free from his shackles finally, she could live her life like the queen she is.
He collects the papers and rushes home, he enters his room and looks at raavi who’s putting a tilak on her forehead. It was a sight to behold for shiva, it was his beautiful wife he had unknowingly fallen in love but his qismat had other plans and it was the last time he would see her in his room.
Shiva! Tu agaya, ab bata de what were you gonna fix today? Shiva hands the papers to raavis hands. Yeh kya hai raavi questioned, shiva was silent.
Raavi opens the letter up and sees what’s written and is dumbstruck, was this real? They were going for a divorce? Yeh kya hai shiva? Kyu? Dekh raavi meh tujhe kabhi kushi nahi de paunga, I’ll never change I’ll always be the way I am, no more compromises from today you’re free I’ve signed the papers now it’s your turn and then you’re azaad.
Raavi was speechless, she didn’t know what to say she was feeling hurt, confused, surprised. Raavi says humara rishta katam? Shiva says humara rishta kabhi tee nahi, samjhota tah aur ab mein tujhe azaad karta hu. Tujhe sohna jaise larka milega aur mera kya mujhe bhi mera tara gadheri miljaygi.
Raavi was so annoyed with his words that she decided to sign those papers. She started to pack her clothes when shiva says let’s tell the family before you go. Raavi finishes putting her clothes in and with her suitcase she comes out with shiva. Shiva calls everyone out.
Dhara says kya hua shiva? Shiva proceeds to tell everyone me and raavi have made the decision to go for divorce, everyone stands there shocked looking at each other in terror. Dhara says lekin kyu? Shiva says hum kush nahi hai Bhabi aur yeh rishta nibani humara bas ki baat hai aur ek baat koi kuch nahi bolega meri kasam. I’ve made a mature decision for the first time in my life.
Raavi with tears flowing down her face goes and hugs dhara and then suman, suman says tu ghar ki larki hai kabhi bhi aa sakta hai. Raavi is dropped by shiva, the whole journey is in silence and before raavi goes shiva simply says apna diyaan rakhna. She slams the door and goes.
A couple of days have passed, raavi is so heartbroken and she thinks to herself what was hers and shivas relation? It wasn’t hatred it wasn’t friendship so why does it hurt me so much. Why am I being affected so much when he was angry all the time. He barely spoke properly to me after what sneha had said so why is it killing me within. Raavi recalls her dance moments with shiva, she remembers the multiple times he had saved her. She looks into the mirror, she thought to herself was she in love with him, she brushes her thoughts away but then remembers that he’s always in her minds she thinks about him more than anything. Then she realised it was pointless because shiva wasn’t in love with her otherwise why would he give divorce. She curses herself for not realising her love before and now it was too late.
Over there shiva was thinking am I that bad, am I not loveable, if she had given me one chance I would’ve given her the entire world, then he realised he had never given her a reason to love him, he was always rude and disrespectful but then he thinks to himself when he had fallen in love with her he should’ve just told her. Then realises maybe they should’ve started as friends when she had offered him and the curses himself for being so dumb but it was too late he had given her divorce and she was happy with it he thought.
A month had passed and suman thought her son needs someone to distract him and return his happiness again, she calls shreya, a daughter of one her friends that lives in Delhi. She calls her and tells her everything on the phone. Shreya agrees to come to somnath.
Everyone wakes up, shiva gets ready to go dukaan when suman stops him and says shiva rukh aaj tu dukaan late jayega. Koi araha hai tere saath, shiva asked who, suman says wait you’ll find out.
Over there raavi hasn’t been the same since divorce. Prafulla comes in and says are meri bhogilal kab tak aise hi ragega tu, dusra shaadi karle. Raavi says she’d rather die than get married to someone who isn’t shiva. Prafulla says you have gone mad, please go and get flour it’s finished. Raavi thinks that’s a good excuse to go pandya store and see shiva, she had longed to see his sight it had been so long.
Shreya makes a grand entry to the pandya house, suman says isko mil yeh hai shreya meri dost ki beti, shiva gives a half smile and shreya gives a full smile and says are vaah vest with a shirt I love your style shiva. In shivas mind he had remembered that raavi was embarrassed to introduce him to her friends because of how he looked.
Suman says shreya will go dukaan with you and sit in the till so she can get work experience. Shiva says okay and they set out to go together.
They reach the dukaan and shiva takes his shirt off because he needs carry the load and put everything into place, shreya gasps, he was so hot which idiot had left him? But that wasn’t her problem because he was her potential husband in the future.
Raavi enters the shop and sees shreya in the till and sees shiva without his shirt working and her drooling over him. Raavi coughs and gets both of shivas and shreyas attention. Shiva was stone faced seeing the girl that he used to love infront of him, he asked do you need something hesitantly. She said yes I need flour. She thought to herself who was the girl, had he moved on so quick, she was heartbroken over him whilst there’s another girl in the dukaan. She goes to the till and asks I’ve never seen you before, are you new to the city? She said yes I just came today from Delhi suman Aunty called me and in that way my work experience can be done too. Raavi was relieved but only a little bit because shreya had looked head over heels over her shiva and why wouldn’t she he was so hot and handsome.
Raavi goes with the flour and thinks to herself how am I meant to keep an eye on him? He’s mine and only mine I don’t want another girl looking at him. She reaches home and thinks I’ll have to do something but what? She thinks I’ll have to make excuses to keep going dukaan that’s the only way I can keep an eye on them.
Over there shiva and shreya had set off for home. The day had ended and shreya didn’t get to speak to shiva so on the way I really like pani puri can you please take me? Shiva said right now? She said yes please with puppy eyes. He said okay and they reached a stall. Two plates of pani puri she said, shiva said why two? She said I don’t like eating alone so thank you for joining me. Shiva thought to himself kaisi larki hai mujhe koi option bhi nahi dee.
Raavi makes an excuse and goes out of the house and goes past pandya house but the shop was closed, she goes a bit further and she gets shocked seeing shiva and shreya eating pani puri and thinks breaking my heart he’s eating pani puri, he’s never eaten with me but he’s eating so nicely with her! She was fuming in jealousy.
Shreya made her first move after eating the pani puri and gave a tight hug and said thank you to shiva, shiva was shocked and so was raavi, she wanted to rip her hairs out. They get in rickshaw and go home. Raavi is so annoyed and says mujhe kuch karna padega varna yeh ladki ke lakshan theek nahi lagra. She was worried about losing shiva forever.
The next morning suman had called shiva and says I think it’s time for you to move on and be happy in life, shiva says I didn’t understand what are you trying to say? Suman says get engaged to shreya. Shiva was dumbstruck, he had never thought about another girl apart from raavi. Dhara comes and says I think suman is right you should move ahead in life. Shiva reluctantly agrees for the sake of his family.
Shreya finds out and gets ecstatic that she’s getting engaged to shiva. The invites are going out she’s going to become Shreya shiva pandya, she calls her parents and tells them the news.
Over there the news reaches prafulla that shiva is getting engaged and raavi hears this, she goes to room and locks herself. No she thinks to herself, I can’t let this happen. I need to tell shiva how I feel but how? Is he happy to be with shreya? She thought I’ll tell how I feel the rest is out of my hands. I’ll have to reach him somehow but how?
The day had arrived where shiva was getting ready for his engagement, raavi was in his mind but she would never feel that way towards him so it was best for him to move on with shreya he thought to himself. He comes down and just when he’s about to put the ring on shreyas finger, A voice screams.
Nahiiiiiiiiiiii, Rukh jaooo, yeh nahi ho sakta! There was a lady under a veil. Yeh meri bacha ka baap banne wala hai she screams. Everyone in the house was shocked and looked at each other even shiva was so confused, he had never done the deed so who was under the veil?
Shreya questioned what is all this? No one had a answer, dhara asked who are you? The woman under the veil said ask shiva, everyone asked shiva but he had no answers because he didn’t know himself. The woman under the veil says can I talk to shiva alone In front of everyone. He asks why, say whatever it is here who are you why you under the veil, she says no you have to come alone if you want to know. Dhara and suman says go shiva and please come back soon to tell us everything.
Shiva and the girl under the veil go upstairs and then she locks the room. She gets out of the veil and it’s none other than raavi. Shiva says tu! Chipkali tu! Kaisi bachi kiski bachi, kaise bakwas karrihi thi niche? Raavi says chup ek dum chup!
Engagement kar rahi tu? Kisne himmat diye tujhe. He said we got divorced and then mum and Bhabi wanted to remarry so for their happiness I said yes. She asks what about you? Are you happy? Forget you what about me? Did I never mean anything to you? I’ve been struggling ever since the divorce and you’re here getting married again, dinosaur ka bacha.
Shiva asks what’s it to you, I thought you’d be happy that your free from my lifeless boring life. I thought you’d get married to a gentleman type guy who doesn’t smell of tel masala! Raavi says bas karde shiva! I don’t have the strength to listen to your bullshit! I’ve never had a problem with you, it was always you or misunderstandings that pushed us away. After getting away from you I realised I loved you and everything you said or did affected me very much. I realised very late but you’re all I ever wanted, you have all the qualities I could ever ask for and more. After we got married I got used to being with you tel masala didn’t affect me and my choices before marriage are out of my hands. But I can’t live without you, if you’re still angry or upset with me there’s nothing I can do but I love you a lot more than you can imagine, please give us another chance and let’s get remarried, I promise this time it won’t be compromise it’ll be a love marriage where I’ll put my best all the time, I’ll try look after this house as much much as dhara bhabi I’ll try to become the best wife and daughter in law.
Shiva was shocked at this confession and proceeds to say, gadheri, what took you so long to realise? If you had realised before then we wouldn’t have divorced. To be honest with you I had fallen in love with you in the haveli, I started love being with you and hence I even stopped fighting with you, I got used to being with you, I used to admire you from afar. I thought this relationship was going in the right direction and then I had heard what you had felt from your friends mouth and your diary and then I thought to give your happiness back but in the process I had been so rude with you so I’m sorry for that, I promise I’ll never lay a hand on you ever again, I’ll try to be as understanding as I can and I’ll cooperate with you and treat you like the queen you are, I love you very much my chipkali.
They look at each other with tears of joy and smile and give each other a hug, their first official hug as lovers, they were so lost in each other and then shiva realises, what are we gonna do now gadheri, mera bacha, yaar why couldn’t you stop the wedding like a normal human, raavi says it’s not my fault I did what came to my mind now think of something, how do we get out of this mess? Shiva says okay wait let me think of something.
Shiva says I have an idea but you’re going to have to say yes when I say it downstairs, she says say yes to what though, he says we don’t have time just say yes downstairs, she says okay. He says we’ll tell maa and everyone later but we need to get rid of the guests without too much drama.
They go downstairs and suman says bol beta kya hua? Bata sab ko. Shiva says voh maa yeh engagement nahi ho sakta, everyone says kyu? He says ye larki ka pati ke naam bhi shiva tah, she’s lost her mental imbalance and whenever she sees a shiva she goes mad for a little while but then she gets back to her senses but it doesn’t take too long for her to go crazy again, haina he asks looking at raavi who’s under the veil, she says haan having no choice thinking to herself couldn’t the gadhera find a better excuse.
Suman says toh hum kya kare, woh uska problem hai, mental hospital be bhejo, shiva says maa let her stay here for a couple of days I’ve spoken to someone they’ll take her in a couple of days but this engagement can’t take place anymore I’m sorry, this is for the sake of a human I hope everyone understands, he says sorry to shreya.
Shreya very upset goes with her parents and slowly everyone dispersed. Suman says yeh kya tamasha hai shiva aur yeh ladki kon hai? Shiva says look mum I lied, everyone knows this girl, I love her a lot I can’t live without her, after you and dhara Bhabi this is the only other girl that’s entered my heart, it took us very long to realise that we can’t live without each other. Everyone looks on and dhara says who is it?
Shiva says take the veil off, raavi takes the veil off and everyone is shocked to see raavi? Suman says tum log kya pagal ho? Pehle shaadi karta ho, phir lar sar ke divorce le leti ho, phir mangni ki din natak karke shaadi rukwa deti ho phir pyar ke izhar kardeti ho.
Shiva and raavi stand next to each other and say sorry to everyone, shiva says it took us a lot of mishaps and misunderstandings to understand that we love each other and can’t live without each other. Can you please forgive us and let us re marry.
Suman says now that you’ve decided everything give me a hug because you guys will get married and I’ll get you guys married grandly. I’m so glad to see you happy, dhara says I knew you guys were meant to be together I’m so glad you guys have realised. YKB plays and everyone rejoices in happiness.
Shiva goes to drop raavi off, they’re happy as ever and just as they pass the pani puri stall raavi says shiva rukh, he asks why it’s very late, she says stop I want to have pani puri, he says have you gone mad? You wanna eat pani puri after such a hectic day? Raavi says ahaha you didn’t have a problem with having pani puri with shreya but when I ask you’re calling me mad? Shiva says wait how do you know were you spying on me? She says no I was just on a walk and I saw you guys now come and feed me pani puri with your hands. Shiva was smiling like a maniac loving the authority she was showing over him. They had pani puri and shiva says ab chale, she says okay let’s go.
They reach near the house and raavi says wait get off, he says I can go a little bit more there’s still a minute walk to your house. She says no get off, he says what now? You want sweets now? I promise I didn’t have sweets with shreya. She says gadhera you didn’t have sweets but she hugged you, where’s my hug before you go, I don’t want mausima to see let’s hug here. He says oh you saw that as well, I smell something burning, she says think whatever you want but hug chahiye toh chahiye. Both share a passionate warm hug. He says okay now go bye it’s very late. She says that’s it? Only a hug? He says haan? She asks again that’s it and corners him near the tree, ayy mami ki behen ki beti teri iradha theek nahi lagri. Before he says anything else she slams her lips on to his and they share a short but sweet kiss. She runs from there and shiva stays shocked before smiling to himself and making his way home.
This wasn’t a happy ending but the beginning of a journey that was going to have a lot of obstacles, but one thing was clear shiva and raavi had matured, they would face all the challenges ahead together as one.
