@bold: I think it was because he was told she was just sleeping. He already knows she was tired. If you're that p.oed at someone - her condition, as it appeared to him, was not serious enough to call to check in. I could understand why he didn't bother to call her - he thought she was just taking a nap. Would've been a different situation if she had 1) fainted/passed out in front of him or 2) she had a legit illness/was ill /etc.
