With raghav atleast he is given some monologues to explain his thought process. Even today he was like mujhe uske level tak girna padh raha hain for your safety. And at the end of the day he is doing it for pallavi no matter how wrong his ways are.
With pallavi the reasoning for her going out of her way has been quite inconsistent and not properly taken care of .I would have appreciated it more had their been a backstory to it like that in the original version of the show.
Hmm, TBH, I don't agree. I think her reasoning has been pretty much the same since day 1- she wants to help him recover for Ayi Baba and so that they can all move on in their lives. I can't think of any incident where she's wavered from this, and she spelled it out quite clearly to Raghav as well, in that kitchen scene, and he got where she's coming from. She doesn't need to be indebted to Mandaar in order to go above and beyond for him here, as she was indebted in the original version, since her character has been written as one who goes above and beyond for everyone. I'd argue that when she helped Raghav after his accident in the first lion track, he had wronged her far, far more than Mandaar right now is. As for her trusting her instincts on Mandaar's creepiness, from her perspective nothing that drastic has happened, minus an uncomfortable vibe, which she's putting aside for the sake of doing the right thing. I'd love for her to realize how truly screwed he his soon, and distance, for her own safety, but something has to trigger that and it hasn't yet.
Raghav, on the other hand, is letting her believe he supports what she's doing, but then tracking her in an underhanded manner- something most of us would find absolutely unacceptable in a a partner. He actually does have concrete proof of Mandaar's intentions (via text), which he's not telling her- information that can have a direct impact on her well-being. He's engaged in a juvenile af challenge with Mandaar, and doing underhanded things like the selfie, which really erases a lot of Pallavi's agency in this situation.
Now, not to say I think Raghav is messing up big either. He's learning how to be a supportive husband. His insecurities are playing into it. But it's not fair to say that Pallavi's mistakes are bigger, because they're honestly not. And neither of their mistakes are bigger than the love between them. So, as things stand, I really don't see a need for Pallavi to redeem herself here. Redeem herself for what, really? Not having the best survival instincts is all I can hold her guilty for at this point.
