Victim blame is shitty af.
This actually reminds me of an incident.
I caught up with my school friend in our classmate's marriage.
She used to be a very bubbly and fun loving girl at school but when we met her after so many years, she looked absolutely dull and depressed. Kuch mahino se phone nehi laga. So when I asked her she told me about an incident that shook me. She met a person a person in an inter college competition in Ahmadabad. He was an orphan, who studied through scholarship. He had two or three friends and that's it. She and her friends got along with him very well. The girl's parents are as bubbly as her. They are so friendly and sweet, such a wonderful family. She talked to him like a little sister and he also called her his sister. But one fine day, he started getting possessive about her. He started saying he loved her and stuff. He kept threatening to commit suicide. She got scared and told this to her family. Her father asked him to block his number.
One fine day, they were going to a temple; they met him accidentally. After two days or something, he came to her house. Her father explained very patiently about the circumstances. It happened during a cyclone . Her family considered his safety and asked him to leave the next day. He agreed and nodded his head.
She locked her room and went to sleep. Her family went to sleep too. But this guy went to the kitchen and dragged a gas cylinder next to her room.
Luckily, her father woke from smell. He tried to stop him but he went psychotic. He kept saying if 'she is not his, then she will be nobody's'
Alarmed, by the incidents they called the police. The guy knowing there is no escape, he took a knife and slit his throat right in front of them.
She was traumatized ki kya batoon. The police took her phone for investigation. People apart from her family kept blaming her. 😡
She's under going therapy.
The one good thing here is, she spoke to her family and her family was supportive. Idk what would have been of her otherwise.
