Okay, today was day 1 of rescue Adi from terrorists, where Imlie became our action hero to save her bandhe huye Babusaheb from the terrorists. Mujhe laga that I was watching a south ka masala action movies, with a bit of romance thrown in to keep us hooked😆
So with continuity from Saturday's episode, Pallavi finds out the Imlie has escaped. Everyone is irritated with her stupidity, specially B Kaka, who actually looked a bit worried for her, but humari Rupi di as usual stands up to her and assures everyone that her Adi bhai will be back soon. When questioned how she will do it alone - Rupi di reminds her that her Sita Maiyya always has Imlie's back.
We are taken back to Imlie, who on coming out of Babusaheb's dreamy haze finds her dadda standing in front of her (how did he know to reach there. Kahin spies to nahi beje to follow her from the T house). Post their emotional reunion, Imlie tells SK about the police's plan, where the all knowing SK tells her that he expected as much from the government & whatever needs to be done, will be done by them. He tells her that he knows where those idiots (I burst out laughing at that) have hidden Adi and they will go an rescue him together. Haye, now I got another reason why SK is so revered in PD - he knows how to get required information and get the job done, unlike others ('cough' C family 'cough')
SK & Imlie reach the terrorist's den, where Imlie is worried about finding Adi, and SK reassures her that they will find him here. Imlie asks for a sign to be able to locate Adi, where at that time the police are negotiating with the terrorists with a fake Anand bhai, who is supposed to go on the other side & kill the terrorists. Imlie wants to koodo in the negotiation, but is luckily stopped by SK who reminds her that at this time going in there will increase the danger on Adi & if anything goes wrong, they will be held responsible. Imlie silently watches the negotiation while waiting to catch a glimpse of Adi.
We are then shown Adi all tied up in chains (why, no one will know, except I assume it is supposed to look cool) We then get an almost 5 minute sequence with Adi trying to get to the other side, with Imlie watching in worry. This entire sequence is tit for tat for the BBC episode where Imlie got her 5 mins of just looking all around IMO, coz there seemed to be no other reason to explain 5 mins of Adi walking in slow motion to some Punjabi slow number, looking all beat up. He looked like those abla naaris who have been kidnapped by the villain to take revenge from the hero and this entire sequence looked like it had been lifted from one of those masala movies that GM loves to watch as his guilty pleasure😆.
Anyway the terrorists spot the gun in the fake Anand's pocket (which was clearly visible to anyone to see from a distance) and shoot the fake Anand. This leads to gun shots flying all around and bechara Adi caught in the cross fire. While I understand that he was traumatized, but really today all I could do was picturize Adi as that bimbi abla naari who is clueless in such situations. Matlab bechara wahin pe in the middle of everything was trying to decide ke me yahaan jaaon ki wahaan🤣
Us beech Imlie apni dadda ka haath chod ke goes to save her abla naar from the goli baar. She goes to protect him, and we get such a cliche BGM with the words - Balamwa tohri jeevan ki dor na toote, teri saath jeeyu, tere bin ye saas na chute. Matlab puri ki puri 70's ke woh B grade action movie ke gaane jaisa lag raha tha and I mean it it made no sense to me as to why that was created and inserted for that scene. They could have just kept Piya tose for the whole scene - this one just seemed so tacky I burst out laughing.😆
Anayway, BGM aside (I put the scene on mute to see that portion again) their punar milan was so beautiful. Imlie hugs Adi from behind to protect him and he turns in slow motion to see who it is. On realizing that it is Imlie, a myriad of emotions flitter through his face - confusion, worry, hope and most of all happiness on seeing her there. He realizes that there are gunshots going all around and tries to pull her out, but Imlie just wants to take a moment to drink in his presence and hold on to him. While the gunshot battle is going on, Adi envelopes her in his arms to protect her and then when he realizes that things are getting more dangerous, he tries to hold on to her & run away, all zulfien fltying. We get a miniature reboot of the Dil Se chase, blast sahit, which throws both of them on opposite sides. They try to reach out for each other's hand, when Adi is caught by the terrorist again. Adi tries to protect Imlie by asking the police to shoot Jugnu, as he is a phattu (which he is BTW).
Anyway, we then get Imlie's action hero avatar. She asks Jugnu to leave Adi alone, while Adi is trying to get her to leave (he knows what she is capable of you see). Imlie gets all hero like and brushes off dust from her shoulder, when she spots a gun lying nearby. She runs in full hero mode again to get the gun, and gest shot at, but does not get shot, just like in the movies😆. She gets the gun and points it at the terrorist, with Adi worrying for her safety, just like how the heroines did in those old masala movies😆.
We are taken back to the T house, where on hearing the door bell, Aparna had first assumed it was Adi, but was happier seeing Malini there (of course. Almost like ). The elder T's get all emotional and thank Malini for all her efforts, with Malini being all "oh it was nothing" wala expression. Then when Rupi & Nishant burst her bubble that Imlie has actually gone to save Adi, she realizes that her sapna of getting the credit of being the only one to save Adi seems to go up in flames. As usual she starts blaming Imlie and instigate the Sr T's to do the same. The Jr. T's remind what Imlie is capable of and how she is not one to wait around, sitting by the phone to get news. Rupi di assures everyone that no matter what, Imlie will get both of them safe and sound.
The precap has Imlie trying to shoot the terrorist, while he is trying to threaten to shoot Adi. Adi keeps telling her to shoot as the terrorist is a darpok (why can't this guy keep quiet in such a situation is beyond me. Did he have to instigate the terrorist further) Any way, the terrorist shoots and Adi calls out for Imlie, while the screen goes black.
Looks like this entire mission will get over by tomorrow, or extend till Wednesday at most. Uske baad we need to see how these to deal with the more frightening T family after Imlie rescues Adi & gets him home. By the BTS looks like both are safe & sound, so this week we will get to figure out the purpose of this whole kidnapping, coz does not look like either one is getting seriously hurt after all this. Hope that this whole incident has a positive outcome for Adi & Imlie's life, despite all the action.
