Hello Forum Wasiyon,

Welcome to Discussion of the week,

So I had this idea to start discussion of the week, and what more can I think of other than Criticism and Insult difference to start the Discussions with a cup of Koffee☕️⭐️. As you may know we as forum members have crossed all limits to insult certain actors of our favorite show,😈 which I am against, I mean you all can criticize the actor's acting, their character and story of our serial, I am all for it. But sometimes we do not realize where our criticism in going...😎😆

Here we will discuss on the Hot Topic of criticism and insult.😲 Difference between the two. I know you all must be thinking we know the difference and all. I know, but this will make us take a bigger dive into criticism and insult. Its a general topic for discussion, you may use reference from GHKKPM actors but do not target them.😉

The main purpose of this is to learn different perspectives of everyone and also put a check on ourselves when we cross the line. I Hope we all learn from this discussion.🤓

Discussion of the week:

What is criticism?. Does criticism means the same as insulting? What is the difference between criticism and insult?

Rules

-DO NOT bring in Aishwarya, Neil, Ayesha or other actors of GHKKPM and divert the topic to them.

-DO NOT attack other members opinion.

-Follow IF Code Of Conduct all the time.

-Follow Forum Rules all the time.

My answer to the Discussion Question: There is a thin line between criticism and insult, one may not realize when one goes overboard with criticism it becomes insult. For instance, I have a friend and i dont like the way she dresses up at parties, so I tell my friends " look she is all dressed up like a clown" - this is insult and may be I am drawing a line into her personal comfort. If i would have said " she needs to dress better, she looks okay in this" this would be a constructive criticism.

To quote definitions from google

Criticism: the expression of disapproval of someone or something based on perceived faults or mistakes

Insult: speak to or treat with disrespect or scornful abuse.

Let the discussion begin,

[we can have more discussion of the week from now on, let's see how this one unfolds]

You know, I was thinking of asking ppl to just speak positive things about any person they choose to like.

If we do not like someone, then simply do not say anything about them for just a day and see how far we can go.

The speed in which the topics needs to closed, the whole forum mayb asked to be shut for two days 🤣

See, you may speak negatively about any actor character, but it should be constructive criticism, I agree there has been a lot of topics wherein we just cross the border of criticism and insult, hence this topic 😉

You may ignore and not make a moutain out of mole if you do not like particular actor that can be done,Yes.. but it also depends on each indivdual and some might agree and not agree to do it

bold: 😆.. forum is a place where you will find all kinds of perspectives, hence its a space for discussion, but we need to keep the rules in line as well.. 😳

I know what you mean. But end of the day it's just a show 😆.After ghum ends we will probably laugh at our own antics 😆.

So it's all cool to me. Though if someone irks you onscreen it's better staying away from her as much as possible and we can always talk about the people we love.

Sometimes we just get carried away too much that we often cross limits expressing.its part of human nature. We can't change people's mind set all of a sudden right ?

Let it die down. After sometimes I know it's going to get normal anyway.Trust me it happened in the past manytimes .

bold: Agreed, we cant change people's mind sets, and by no means we are planning to change that, but when we cross limits, it should hit us, that yes we are going overboard criticising the character/actor and we should stop right there as it is now turning into insults.. and sometimes we need somethings to trigger on our mind as human nature, and so we can discuss it here, why our criticism can be insulting and so on...

One might criticise someone who you like/love ....also someone who you dislike...

BUT insult would be always for the one you dislike...

I guess it starts of as just putting across their thoughts on one smthin. Then someone else counters that, then ego comes up and get carried away in defending your post.

There is less of "let go of different opinion" and more of "my way is the only way"

🙈🙈🙈 My gyan mata woke up ☺️

To the point, yes we criticize ones we like too, but why do we insult the ones we dislike? Why can not we criticize only to the ones we dislike too? There is no rule as to only insult the ones we dislike.. no one wants you to indulge yourself when you dislike someone,we can ignore too right?

Yes, this brings to tolerance as well, we can always have the option to let go of the counter opinion but we choose to defend our opinion and then the discussion gets carried away and if its of criticism, insult kicks in while defending and henceforth...

Agreed..was more concrete on the difference part..what could be the very basic difference between the two.. not a dictionary difference..
