“Jasmine, you? And why are you hiding?” Tejo asked her sister upon finding out it’s her.
“No Tejo, I’m not hiding. One side of my earring fell out, so I’m looking for that.” Jasmine told her elder sister.
“Okay, but by the way where are you going?” She asked.
She was hesitant, “I’m going to meet Sweety.”
“Okay then, bye,” Tejo told her but she had her suspicions.
Tejo knew Jasmine was hiding something from her, so she decided to follow her. She waited until the car drove off before she got into a rickshaw to follow her sister. Luckily, it was a busy day and there were more rickshaws or else Jasmine would’ve realized that she’s being followed by Tejo.
Jasmine exited the car and walked into the coffee shop where she was about to meet him- the apparent love of her life. She looked around and there he was, seated at the far end of the cafe, away from prying eyes dressed in a white shirt and distressed black pants. ”What a sight for sore eyes,” she thought.
“Hi,” she told him. He replied to her with a hi and proceeded to hug her. He pulled the chair out for her and called the waiter. Whilst waiting for their order, they were so engaged in their conversation that they were unaware that amidst the couples, there was a broken heart. She wanted to approach them and question them but she wanted to know more.
“How could they do this to me? I trusted them. I loved both of them and they stabbed me in the back.” She thought whilst there was a stream of tears rolling down her cheeks. For the second time, Tejo Kaur was hurt and betrayed. Answers was what she wanted and that is what she’s gonna get! From the two manipulators and most despicable people in her life.
She looked on as they both were laughing and romancing each other. She even saw Fateh placing kisses on her sister’s cheeks and that night flashed in front of her. The feeling she was getting was unexplainable- she never felt like this before. She left there but someone caught a glimpse of her and knew it was time to face the wrath of her. They knew she wouldn't take this lightly. After all, she’s Tejo—an emotion driven person.

Driving back home with Jasmine in his car, he saw her at the junction with a suitcase. He knew he couldn’t run from this confrontation.
He stopped the car.
“Fateh, what happened? Why did you stop the car? It’s already late and you know I have to get home or else Mamiji is going to create a scene,” Jasmine told him.
Seeing him still as pale as they left the coffee shop, she looked in front and she went pale. There she was, her elder sister, her lover’s wife—Tejo.
“Tejo, why are you here? And this bag? Are you going somewhere?Tell me na,” Jasmine in her shameless avatar asked her sister.
In disbelief, Tejo wanted to slap her but couldn’t after all she’s her little sister and love doesn’t diminish all of a sudden. But to her demise, she learnt it the hard way. She felt used.
“Yes, I’m leaving Moga and shifting to somewhere where you, him or your families’ shadow cannot reach me!” Tejo calmly said, only she knew how she controlled herself.
“But Tejo, why are you leaving?”she asked Tejo.
“Do you really want to know? Are you really that stupid that I have to explain everything to you or are you just pretending in front of me to make me look more dumb than you two have made me,”she yelled.
“Tejo, you’re misunderstood. Nothing what you’re thinking is happening,”Jasmine lied.
Tejo scoffed and said, “Is there something on my forehead?”
Jasmine didn’t understand and Fateh stood mute amongst all this, he was ashamed of himself.
“Is stupid written on my forehead? I’ve misunderstood. Weren’t you two at the cafe romancing each other? Wasn’t Fateh planting kisses on her cheeks or was that a dream I had?” Tejo yelled as she grabbed Jasmine’s shoulders.
Jasmine had no answer for her sister, she lied before but she didn’t want to because she knew Tejo found out the truth.
“And you, don’t try hiding that string on your finger. I’ve seen it,” she told him coldly. He was in shock that the Tejo who was so loving to everything was devoid of emotions speaking to him.
“Do you think that I’m that gullible that I haven’t seen through your games? You came to her engagement ceremony for her, you got engaged to her, you kept watching her all the time. You even held her hands and danced with her. Oh, and don’t think I don’t know about that stunt you two pulled in the backyard- hugging each other and professing your love for each other” Tejo said.
“I’m not worried about me, I’m worried about our families; well your families. I’m not a coward, I’m not weak. I can take care of myself, I don’t need you two worrying about me. I’m done with both of you and I don’t ever want to see your faces ever again in my life,” she said, “and don’t worry about me still being your wife, I’ll make arrangements to get rid of your existence in my life.”
Fateh was shocked to know that Tejo had come to this resort but what did he expect? He played with her emotions and with her life to some extent. He regretted leading her on knowing it’ll be near to impossible to forget Jasmine. But wasn’t she the one who was helping him to move ahead in life, be focused and have something to look forward to everyday? And what did
he do? Ruin it with his own hands in an act of impulse and emotions.
“Also, don’t feel guilty about that night—the s*x wasn’t even that good.”Tejo said and both Jasmine and Fateh’s eyes widened in shock, Fateh was even embarrassed.
“You did what?” Jasmine shouted at Fateh. “You slept with her? Tell me that she’s lying!”
“No, she’s not,” an embarrassed Fateh told Jasmine. “That night when our car broke down, we stayed in an empty farmhouse. My hormones and emotions went into an overdrive and we…”Fateh couldn’t continue as he felt ashamed of what he’s done.
“Anyways, Abhiraaj is on his way to get me while you two figure out what you’re gonna do with your lives,” Tejo told them both, “all the best,”she smirked to them.
Jasmine couldn’t tolerate Fateh and Tejo had consummated but she was glad that Tejo is no longer a part of Fateh’s life. It still is going to nag her that Fateh isn’t fully committed to her and Tejo’s always going to be his first. She thought ”what happened to the love that was a worship for him, didn’t he consider her his god?” and with that thought Jasmine left for her home leaving Fateh all alone collecting his thoughts and pondering upon all his shortcomings.
Fateh was left alone, no Tejo, no Jasmine; just him. His actions has led him to lose the only person who could keep him sane and due to his stupid behaviour, she left without an address.
