Arpit se pata karwao... Woh bhi to sab detailed story dene wala tha about the show ending and then extension
An example of why I tend to find "online trp" numbers extremely arbitrary and random, and not worth the paper they're printed on.
This one has Anupamaa at 43, but SAAKK at 0.5 and MHRW at 0.7 🤡
A decent proportion of whoever watches online also potentially comes to discuss at IF- there's an element of synergy.
MHRW and SAAKK have literally been in IF's top three forums for months now, while Anupamaa languishes in 19th.
Hard to take these numbers at face value!

🤣

In this information age, I personally find remakes tough to watch, especially if the original's story is already available in depth on Wikipedia (like Kusum Dola) and the adaptation is a frame by frame remake.
Could probably watch smaller remakes (50 episodes or web series types), but I'd find it tough to invest 6 months + on a show when I know the storyline. Thankfully for Sitara, some of the smaller regional language shows don't have full summaries on Wiki , so it keeps the element of surprise intact😆
The thread you've linked to has a nice logo for Star!
Lol I like the edit as well. This is basically Star Plus right now.
If I already know the storyline of the original or have seen it, I can't enjoy the remakes as much. With movies, there's still some room for improvisation and as long as execution, acting etc. are not copied verbatim I can give it a shot, such as with movies like Drishyam. It's harder to do so on TV because it doesn't allow for too much variation, and makers don't want to risk it if the original storyline is already bringing in good ratings. My friends used to watch the Bengali remake of IPKKND and apparently halfway through the series they changed a lot of things in the plot, including the entry of the FL's lookalike and whatnot. I heard bits and pieces but it was interesting to know that they experimented with an already established storyline.
Bold: I think that would explain the popularity of most of the Star plus shows off late. I'd assume that majority of the viewers aren't aware of the original plot hence the surprise element is still there. I think I read somewhere that in MehndiHRW they tried to give a twist to the mystery of the murder of FL's first husband, which wasn't there in the original--if they did that, I feel that was a good move. With most remakes, nobody wants to experiment.
I feel so lost in IG these days. I wish I could show my notifications. It's filled with likes on several posts one by one. I don't even get to see who is liking and who is not. It's so massive.
