As much as I hate Shaan for being an absent parent, his pining for his Noor is heartbreaking(Badi sooni sooni hai). He made a mistake in not stopping his Noor and by also not leaving with her. Also by turning to alcohol and neglecting his child. He needs to own up to his mistakes and try to correct them. Wallowing does not help!

And Devi has taken full advantage of the situation. Blaming Aastha and Shagun for any hurt that Shaurya has experienced. Initially, I felt Shaurya’s eyes were so dead and void of emotions but in the scene with Devi, where he talks about failing in relationships, we get a sense of the depth of his despair. Also loved Devi’s comment “Tere liye jo likhi hai na woh bhagwan khud bana rahe hai apne haathon se”. The most Anokhi of pieces is awaiting him!

Patriarchy is toxic for males too. Ramesh Bhalla feels the weight of it. He has to work to keep a roof over his family’s head. He takes care of his mother. His eldest child is married off but he’s paying off the dowry still. His son’s engineering degree requires another loan. His youngest is sitting at home unmarried. He worries if something happens before retirement, his family will be affected. I’m not defending his toxicity or misogyny but trying to understand that in a rural Indian setting, in a middle class family, patriarchy hurts everyone.

“Zindagi ka doosra naam compromise hota hai”. How sad that many grow up thinking that and believing that and limiting themselves in life! Anokhi isn’t that person, as much as many would want her to that the middle safe path, that’s not her character. She seems to believe in Patrick Henry’s “Give me liberty or give me death!’

Precap: Gurdaspur is happening. “Rubbish” and hallway takkar is coming!!

Looking at the way they changed shaguns character in the show ,it just didn't make sense .She was a strong woman who chose her career and walked out of shauryas life with her head high .No sane women would ever want to back to a man like shaurya .I just wish the cvs could have done a better job with shaguns character .The old shagun for sure would have never stopped this low .

I must confess I have truly never understood Shaan. I don't understand the source of his pain- Does he resent Astha choosing her parents over him and their son? is it that once Astha walked out, she never looked back and he feels like she did not love him enough? Is it his disappointment in Astha and her choices and he regrets falling for her and spoiling both their lives along with that of Shaurya? Does he regret his inaction and not standing by his wife (his action sure don't suggest this)? Does he resent Astha that she put him in a position where he was forced to pick his family over Astha owing to family loyalty? Since he has been drowning in alcohol, abandoned his son and taken no action to fix anything, I am hard pressed to understand the source of his pain.

I say this differently-"There are no free lunches in life, there is a price and a prize associated with every choice" . There is truly no compromise in life but our inability/unwillingness to pay the price needed for a choice or the prize not being worth the price. The compromise is picking a choice where price and prize seem somewhat aligned while wanting a completely different and more expensive prize. When people say that they have no choice what they truly mean is they are unwilling to pay the price needed to make the choice and shoot for the prize. In context of the show - when Astha chose to walk out of SH...it might seem that she did not compromise her values but in other words she was willing to pay the price of abandoning her son and her husband to care for her old parents. There is no limiting factor in anyone's life, we play safe because we believe that the challenge of taking a path less trodden (price) is not worth the uncertain returns. It is our fear of losing what we have in hand that makes us risk averse.

I absolutely agree. She was very strong and positive woman but later on makers have completely changed her character. It's injustice to her character.

What to do oh shaurya with you?

On noticing these early episodes, one thing comes to forefront, the yearning of acceptance in Shaurya and Anokhi both.

The father and son, so much to say yet they both are unable to express anything and everything. What hit me hard here was the unnecessary drag that sabarwals did to the Shagun situation. Let. Things. Go. In. Peace. But it's important to 'insult' the girl and to make it all about themselves. This is how 'ladkewaale' play the victims card. It's annoying and insulting.

Also, did shaurya ever love Shagun or did he just want her because she was smart and educated and fit his 'bill' of a stay at home woman?

Also not how shaurya saya he will 'allow' her to guest lecture at college. Now I wonder, who was shaurya?

So women, rich or poor somewhere go through the same form of issues in the core.

Ramesh Bhalla, wants to be done away with his bhoj, consent or background does not matter. Well to a poor man a groom must feel like a blessing as his world is filled with examples of honour and doing the right thing. Again? Does he love his daughters, I think a difficult question to answer. I can't say yes nor can I say no.

I believe the new Shagun was a condition of the channel and the PH was forced to take her but then they did not fully follow what channel wanted. Hence the utter nonsense Shagun track which at the beginning was all for her pride and then over time changed into a clingy obsessed women. Maybe she had a problem in Cambridge...

After watching today’s episode I have contradicting thoughts. Felt very bad looking at Shaurya as he feels that he failed in all relationships. Is it the brought up that made him so cold towards Shagun that he didn’t even pick up one call? But If he has a feeling that he failed, why did he not even try to hear Shagun and convince her or get convinced that he can wait for her? I understand that she should’ve informed him earlier but still..

Should I feel bad for Shaurya or Shaan? Felt bad for both and The Shaurya who was in front of Shaan when he was advising was so lifeless. Kv… great job. Again I have the same doubt.. instead of feeling so sad that hee failed why did he not give her a chance to speak ?inspite of the well known truth that he is not respected Shaan didn’t give up and tried advising him.. he clearly admitted that he couldn’t support Astha and it wasn’t his mothers fault and asked Shaurya not to repeat the mistake.

Is this really love that Shaurya has for Shagun? Looking at life experiences generally it is a well known fact that it’s very difficult to give up on your loved ones. It didn’t take him a split second to announce his decision and throw away the ring.So this question remains.

Father and scene was very touching. Shaan wanted Shaurya to support Shagun and not stick to the Saberwals regressive mentality. I think many a times he would have regretted that he could not support Aastha for her career nor did he walk out with her. So he tried to advise Shaurya but Shaurya's years of conditioning is not allowing him to accept his advise.

I feel Shaurya never loved Shagun. Maybe he thought he loved her and she fit the Saberwal ideal bahu category so he would have proposed. If he really loved her would he just break the engagement and move on? I think it was more of an ego issue for him that Shagun had applied for Cambridge without discussing/asking him and had prioritized her higher studies over him.

Ramesh Bhalla... have no words for him. I am sure that he does not love his daughters. How can a father be quiet after knowing that his daughter was beaten by her husband. He did not even ask Babli anything and on top of that telling her mother maybe Babli was also the reason for the treatment she was receiving at her in laws.
