This function is celebrated on every Tuesday in the month of Shraavan

Suhaagans perform a pooja of Gauri ( Devi Paarvati) for a blissful married life.

This is to be done for first 5 years of marriage and then in the fifth year there is like pooja of completion (udyaapan of pooja).

Even though pooja is done by Suhaagans for first 5 years, everyone is invited like other married, unmarried ladies, girls, elder ladies from relatives, neighbors, etc.

Pooja is done in morning, and then there's lunch. In the evening there's aarati and then dinner. Then all the ladies (and nowadays sometimes gents too in some cases) gather around and sing songs, dance (remember pinga?), tell jokes etc. The whole night is to be spent like this ( like a jaagran). Then the next day everyone leaves for their home.
