You can say that but it was a simple way of showing that indeed mandaar is in a bad shape from their perspective and pallavi is just being human by feeling bad .

I agree--Pallavi should/will not definitely to do something like this while Raghav does subtle things like holding hands and staying near her as to show his closeness towards Pallavi

and delibrately to trigger Mandaar is not done
