Enter Marilyn Monroe
During the ‘50s, one of the most popular venues was Mocambo in Hollywood. Frank Sinatra made his Los Angeles debut at Mocambo in 1943, and it was frequented by the likes of Clark Gable, Charlie Chaplin, Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall and Lana Turner.
Ella Fitzgerald was not allowed to play at Mocambo because of her race. Then, one of her biggest fans made a telephone call that quite possibly changed the path of her career for good. Here, she tells the story of how Marilyn Monroe changed her life:
“I owe Marilyn Monroe a real debt … she personally called the owner of the Mocambo, and told him she wanted me booked immediately, and if he would do it, she would take a front table every night. She told him – and it was true, due to Marilyn’s superstar status – that the press would go wild.
“The owner said yes, and Marilyn was there, front table, every night. The press went overboard. After that, I never had to play a small jazz club again. She was an unusual woman – a little ahead of her times. And she didn’t know it."
This was before MLK emerged as a black leader and started a movement.
Today, will any star do it ,to support a t a person from their own marginalised community? They don't dare to post a tweet in support.
Marilyn is not only prettier but hotter as well.
Very difficult to compare. They both had their own unique features. But both have equally infectious smiles.
Tbh I don't think Madhubala was that pretty she is made to be. She had a sweet smile and a charming personality onscreen and that is what made her ethereal. Otherwise if you notice she didn't have any striking features like Aishwarya. She also had a big nose ( which isn't considered beautiful). Both her and Marilyn were considered beautiful because of their charm.
Here she looks like your average Plain Jane but her expressions and smile make her so magical to watch.
That song Jaane kahaan mera jigar gaya ji is not picturised on Madhubala. That's some other actress. Madhubala was the main actress of the movie and Johnny Walker had a romantic angle with another supporting actress who features in this song.
Madhubala.
Marilyn Monroe was sexy but not beautiful.

So expressive!!
madhubala’s acting/expressions in this song >>> most today’s actresses entire career acting/expressions 😆
both are pretty
I pick madhubala
How am I suppose to vote 😍 both are so damn gorgeous
IMO, feature by feature, neither was that great looking, but each had that something that made them legend. Maybe partly each played up her strengths, but it's also partly indefinable.

Marylin Monroe generated a lot of attention cuz of her hourglass figure, platinum blonde hair and was brimming with all the qualities that defined beauty during that era in Hollywood. I'd say much like Kim Kardashian today who redefined beauty for many. But yeah, I don't really see the appeal in both Monroe and Madhubala objectively without the pop culture context around them. I mean, they're both pretty but I'm a 90's kid and when I think of someone who wow-ed me with looks, it's Aishwarya during her younger days. Sure, both Monroe and Madhubala must have had something going for them if so many people are wow-ed by their beauty and still are from the looks of it but I just never boarded that train.
Is she? Or people say for legacy nostalgia https://www.instagram.com/reel/DQbzTsgEviW/?igsh=azNuZTY3YWUxNW9z
