Ofc regular faces like Shaan, Kailash Kher, Javed Ali etc are exceptions but its required to know the participants by face in order to connect with them.
Its not your fault, most captains did not have that kind of volume of work. Like if 90s and early 2000s singers/composers were mentors you would be able to connect to them. Even if you hadn't seen their faces, you know their songs. Makes hell of a difference.
Neha was the surprise package, no one expected her level of performances and confidence. I knew she was special, because I used to listen to VIVA back in the day 😆 But she came across as a surprise for sure.
Things were much better previously, I agree with you. Even though IPML did not follow the same format as SRGMP, at least there should have not been such biases.
I remember Viva! I watched from the auditions, and followed them because one of the members was my senior in college (Mahua).
