"Mothers sometimes are overly possessive but not all children allow themselves to be possessed" , is a quote I read online long back and is something I relate to this show.

Ishwari from begining is slightly archaic in her thoughts and has a preference for boy child. Though she is never vocal about it but its evident in her behaviour. For her , bloodline matters. Her Dev is everything for her. When Dev swayed away from his house after his breakup with Sonakshi , Ishwari lost her capability to keep the family together and eventually her daughters went away from her. Its Sonakshi' who brought all of them back to Ishwari. What she doesnt understand is , its Sonakashi who brings in balance and clarity in Dev's life.

Dev loves his mom . He would do anything for her but had never thought that one day a woman would walk into his life like a midsummer rain . A woman with no inhibitions and absolutely different from his mom. That's his Sonakshi. She gave him the freedom to be who he truly is and never judged him. In fact if someone has seen and understood Dev , it is Sonakshi. And its this affection and understanding between Dev and Sonakshi that scared Ishwari. She feared loosing her control on Dev and she did everything possible to make Dev live a life that she wanted him to live and to a large extend she succeeded but just that it came at a cost.

Unlike Dev, Sonakshi had a very balanced childhood and hence her approach to life is the same. In the present episodes, her fear is very natural because she KNOWS Ishwari and Dev. She is sure Ishwari will get Suhana away from her so that Sonakshi and Dev can spend maximum time with Ayush. And there is nothing wrong with that fear because motherhood is not just about carrying a child in your womb for 9months and giving birth. The actual motherhood is all about nurturing the child after the birth. One becomes a mother only when you take care of a child. Its a bond that one forms while bringing up that little life. It doesnt matter if your kid is biological or adopted . Its always about holding those tiny hands , cleaning them , guiding them , wiping their tears , nourishing them, that slowly translates into an emotion that can only be experienced and never described. This is something people like Ishwari will find it difficult to understand because for them motherhood is all about 9months and giving birth.

Ishwari sacrificed her second girl childs education for Dev's education and prosperity . That simply is not justified . Yesterday , Sonakshi had very rightly questioned that. Sonakshi is able to see Ishwari 's possessiveness towards Ayush. Ishwari sees Dev in Ayush and hence the fear. Ishwari could have used any other mug/glass to give milk to Ayush but she choose Suhana's favorite mug. For parents who have kids of that age will know how angry children become when their mugs are used by their siblings. We can say siblings should share their things etc, but here for Suhana, Aysuh is not her brother. She has not accepted that. The way they introduced and the pace at which they introduced Aysuh to Suhana was not right.

Its quiet natural for any child of that age , to react badly when their position in the family is threatened. When a new born arrives in the family , both the elder child and the family members get time to get accustomed to that thought of having a sibling but here Suhana was not given that time. Ishwari and Dev are not able to understand Ayush's feelings. He has lost his dad , someone who he loved dearly and is been pushed into a new home. He is scared. Sonakshi , senses that and hence keeping the distance . Its important to give children , time and space for building a balanced relationship with each other. To build trust you need to give time.

Both kids are equally affected, the only difference is the way they show/portray their emotions. Ayush shows it through silence and Suhana is vocal about it. If people had watched the last season, you will know that Suhana was a very understanding child. It is Ishwari's upbringing that made her like this. That mug had her picture. That itself shows she is the center of everyones life in that house. And when all of a sudden a new child comes into her house , its quiet natural for her to get angry and rude. Children react badly when they are hurt and insecure. To top it all , Ishwari is not taking care of her as much as she used to. All her things are going to Ayush. In her place she is quiet right to be scared and be vocal about it.

Ayush on the other hand , is at loss because he is in a new house and knows he has no one to fall back on. He is quiet because kids show anger and frustration towards people who they love and trust, here he doesnt know anyone. He would have reacted the same as Suhana had the situation been reversed.

Again Ishwari is making the same mistake she made years back . Ishwari so immersed in her thoughts and her affection for Dev and his bloodline that she refuses to see anything else. Her want to define her son's life according to her plan, will only destroys her son's life. When kids are grown up and married, parents need to let them take their own decision . Sadly she has not learnt from the past.

Will be eager to see if Dev and Sonakshi are possessed by their parents possessiveness OR will they stand together and rise up as parents and take decisions for the happiness of their children.

I really want to congratulate all the three actors. They are able to portray these characters with perfection . The best thing about KRPKAB is that they never had a antagonist . Its the shades of grey in each of these characters, that created conflict in the story. I must say its beautifully written and well translated on to the screen. A great start!!

So wonderfully and thoughtfully written!

Love your take on the three characters. If I may though add a point here. Ishwari of real( first 40ish) episodes understood and valued relationships. Not just of blood but also of care. To add drama into the series the writers have thrown her under the bus and Soha too. Ishwari was possessive and insecure about Dev but the low blow yesterday about Soha not being her first born was way out of line. Would things change for her if suddenly Dev was not related to her by blood? No right, then why should it change overnight for Sona.

Thank you !!

Ishwari is not a bad person, but when it comes to Dev and anything /anyone related to Dev then she needs to be in control because she thinks she knows what is best for Dev. Thats her problem. She feels only she knows what Dev needs.

You wrote it very well

Dev & Sona are adults , they themselves keep running to their respective Maa& Baba for each single things .

As adults people must sort put their by themselves , parents to must give children that space .

I think makers are trying to experiment that part ...

Really agree with your views

As a person , I feel bad for Ayush right now because he is under trauma , from seeing his father’ death, ( grasping death is very diff for children) among strangers , weired granny & two hostile children of his age ...

Your analyze is really good

My interest mainly is Dev’s character it a kind of rare ,

always amused by that character .

Actors are really doing great job 👌🏼

That was quite the parting shot. Cheap and cruel. But Ishwari always had the ability to be cruel towards Sona, mainly because of the bond Sona shared with Dev.

And this was the exact lesson she had learnt post leap, that her pride of thinking that she alone know what Dev wants and needs was wrong and really hurt her son. She tells Bijoy also not to make the same mistake with his daughter, lest he also lose her the way she lost her son.

Apparently, now it seems, she didn't quite learn the lesson🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️🙄

That parting short is actually her guilt. She knew Sonakshi was right but she didnt want to give in . So she gave it back where it would hurt the most for Sonakshi. Ishwari has never treated her kids the same. She has always treated Dev differently from her girls. She can turn into a very heartless person when she is questioned about her capability as a mother or when someone comes in between her dreams for Dev.

Thats the shade of grey Ishwari holds. Supriya ji has portrayed this character so well.

Bold 1: Neha never missed a chance to remind her of her bias. Ishwari knew it in her heart and after a point, she knew that others knew it too. Nikki in one scene, jokingly asks, has you chosen the bedsheets you want for Bhaiyya's room, so we second class citizens can make our choice from the leftovers? She said it casually, without the bitterness that came from Neha, but even the other girls knew they didn't stand a chance. How pathetic and sad.

Bold 2: Ishwari was a proper grey shaded character, but I am afraid in this new season, they may very well turn her into a proper vamp🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️

I am eagerly waiting to see Dev's reaction to Ishwari's decision about Suhana.. Will he get tricked by his mother just like last time or would he be smart enough to take a stand for his wife and daughter. The way its going I feel Ishwari will definitely win this time as well.
