Totally loved RR today. Sai has very expressive eyes 😍 . Loved how he kinda guessed what she wanted to say, yet he was yearning to hear from her. His confusion when she was dazed, turn into frustration when she ran to window. And the concern look when she got back. 🤗🤗

The bedroom scene. liked the transparency on pallavi’s part. And essence of Rr’s character is he gives her the space. Her independence. Aisa beech me mat Latkao.., you can feel his pain, he kinda slightly choked … so impressive.😍

Milind is enjoying the fight within The deplorable .
mandar looks eerie, I hope he is negative, that would be a perfect poetic justice.
and 😱 …finally Raghv in action after ages. Can’t wait…😎

@bold this was a great touch and so well delivered!

Such interesting questions!

On 1 and 3: Really, really hard to pinpoint. I believe these two started falling in love right from day one, but I wonder whether there has been a 'moment' or 'epiphany' of realization. Which is why I didn't like Pallavi having one, because it's a little ridiculous to me that she didn't already know, at some level. I don't have the right words, but didn't love the idea of making the realization an 'event' rather than a process. So, until the show says otherwise, I'd say the realization for Raghav was a process too.

Not sure about turning point, but I think the day she stood up for him regarding the necklace incident was significant for him. He may not remember the vulnerable moment in the shower the previous night, but he was in a frame of mind of being unloveable (😭😭😭), and her unflinching faith definitely threw him. There was that awe in his voice talking to Farhad about it later, that was different from how he ever spoke of Pallavi before.

I think something shifted that day, whether or not he named it as love, and it was after this incident that he started wanting more from the marriage than just giving Pallavi the rights and privileges of being his wife, and took steps to open up himself- sharing his past story, wanting her to know, wanting her to believe his side of it, having expectations of being prioritised by her, that she'd share things with him- that little outburst he had after the Kirti-trying-to-run-away incident, when it came out that Pallavi knew about Sunny. He had started having expectations of a partnership now.

He's been hesitant to voice it as love though, and I think that comes from all the different guilts and burdens he's been carrying- about the marriage, then about Mandaar. When Jaya asks if it's love, he terms it as 'something'. The closest he came to voicing where he's at was when he was drunk, and pleading a passed out Pallavi to not misunderstand him, and not leave him, because he needs her. When Pallavi asked him if he loves her last week, when he gifted her the dress, he doesn't deny it, he just evades it with a smile- which I'm reading as a sign that with the guilt towards her resolved, he's accepted it in his own head, and is now just waiting for her to explicitly tell him that she's on the same page.

On 2: Pallavi wears her heart on her sleeve, and Raghav is incredibly perceptive. I don't think he's at all blind to the depth of her feelings, he's just unwilling to take the slightest of risk that he may be reading her wrong. I would guess the jail incident would have really driven the point home, and I think that's what led him to give up and finally tell her the story he had been trying to hide- the realization that she's never going to let him go down the path he was planning, it was a lost cause, as well as a futile mission, because him trying to scapegoat himself is only giving her more pain than just him covering for Kirti, and giving her pain was the last thing his plan was supposed to achieve.

👍🏼 I agree with points you have mentioned

Only with Amma has he been little more vocal and honest about his relationship with Pallavi.

When Amma asked him if Pallavi had ever willingly expressed her desire to stay with them, he has a fleeting recollection of her statement, "lo ban gaye tum meri priority," but he quickly adds that perhaps this one time Pallavi has shown her willingness was just to make him feel better, so there was always that little doubt about whether Pallavi was actually willing to stay in marriage or she was just comprising with her fate, in his mind that made it difficult for him to believe changes he was seeing in Pallavi’s behaviour and attitude towards their marriage and him along with his guilt ofc.

He did accept that there is no love in their marriage but something is there between them infront of Amma .

He admits that there is no love in their marriage, but there is something between them in front of Amma.

He did want to explore that something at the time, according to me, but a conversation with Amma about how Pallavi deserves to live a life of her own choice compels him to book a ticket to Kolhapur.

Raghav has appreciated Pallavi on occasions since the beginning, but misunderstandings kept them apart. Now that things have cleared up for him, I want a conversation about all remaining misunderstandings; they need to close those loops to reassure both the audience and Pallavi about how deep his feelings are. Pallavi is deserving of such closure

The very 1st episode sums up Raghav’s character. How protective of he was of his family, and how he defines what love is. I don’t remember the exact words but it was beautiful 🤩. It has right ingredients to make a impactful show. The commendable cast, awesome crew, makers willing to defy the stereotype of ITV. But the million dollar question is will the channel give the makers the free rein or will they have to succumb to make a profitable venture.

It's because the scene was simple and effective, and both of them behaved in character.

Yeah, I don't want to think too much about the channel. This is an exciting phase of their lives (at least for viewers) and I know Raghav is going to nail it.

If his depth of feeling for Keerti is any indication, I want to see the same attention to his feelings for his life partner in the way they handle the upcoming tracks. I'm not expecting any sweeping dialogues from him but will be watching his actions very closely, kyunki woh har cheez nahin bolta.

I would absolutely love to see those misunderstandings being addressed, even if it's not all in one day but something at least to show the balance being gradually restored.

LOL, we've shared enough rants on this topic, and I can start again, but ab theek hai- you know everything I have to say. I'm completely, fully here for an ML who respects his wife and values consent, and if that makes him a Gopi Bahu, then so be it!

Yes, absolutely. He's already been getting significantly more expressive than he was when he was being weighed down by the Mandaar-accident-guilt, so I'm not worried. He seems to be on the right path!

I actually would like to see all of what has been going on get to Pallavi now- as you said, she's human. Her ability to just move on from things feels a little unrealistic, it works only because of how well we know her as a character- she doesn't move on, she just pushes it in deep. But it has to come out sometime right?

Yess! Exactly this, like this was a moment sooo long in the making, and then for it to get disrupted by something random outside the window...add to that her visible distress and lack of focus when she came back. Which is why it's so good that Pallavi straight away told him what it was!

@bold, I'm so glad that trait of his has remained intact from day 1. He had clearly talked about boundaries, even when it came to gold-diggers so I'm glad that never changed unlike what happens with the toxicity we see other MLs suddenly portraying when their characters change 180 degrees out of the blue.

Raghav is an expressive guy when he wants to be and can hold his cards very close to his chest when he wants to as well. He isn't (thankfully) the silent brooding kind of ML paired with an overly bubbly FL. He may not have long conversations with Pallavi beyond discussing specific problems or events in their lives but even in those rare moments when they talk, they manage to convey so much with just a few lines. I really do want to see a few long scenes where they talk about their future and their dreams, especially if it's a continuation of what Raghav had asked her: what does Pallavi want for herself? I know he's going to do whatever he can to support her in fulfilling her ambitions and making her dreams come true.

We've talked about the imminent breakdown of Pallavi's that hasn't happened. I'd like to see how she still manages to hold it together with all the upcoming madness around Mandaar and the Ds. Sameer (actor playing Sanki) said there'd be thrills and twists. Not sure how I feel about that, but as long as they keep writing that second layer of the narrative to address underlying issues that these writers are famous for, I'm fine with it.

I love that you have taken up this topic jean. ❤️ I will answer to the 2nd question and then I will get to the 1st one.

2) I feel the “kaise mujhe tum mil gyi (kmtmg)” sequence was the turning point. Raghav has been there for a while now, but has had hard time accepting the love that was coming his way, with all the guilt of times he has wronged her, weighing heavy on his shoulders. So he has been just holding back letting Pallavi set the pace.

I remember the smile on his face when they both come back from the prison, and Amma compares Pallavi to Savitri.
And then the during kmtmg- Pallavi, for the first time, willingly decides to be that close to him. Again his smile said it all, and then how he longingly looks at the towel she handed him.

It was in those moments where he could see that she’s letting him in, she has dropped down her guard a little. Also the fact that she believed in him above everything else.

The lyrics beautifully went along with how he was feeling, he knew there ki he has earned her! Pallavi mil gyi hai usko finally, everything’s changed, and he doesn’t know how he got so lucky!

Then comes the moment where Pallavi, in clear words, promises him that her past is never coming between them ever now. That just made his belief firmer. Evident with what he says next- “let’s go and get done with this one last thing, (and then we can move on)” . The way he said “Hamari responsibility” - there was a lot of hum there!

1) Raghav’s acceptance of his own feelings for her, was all dependent on him knowing how she feels for him. The moment he knew she’s letting him in, that was the exact moment he could start letting go of his guilt completely! All this while he has loved her, but never accepted it to himself or anyone else. But as soon as the past is in the past, he gave himself a chance as well. He finally thinks he deserves her. Pallavi has a huge role here, all what she has done to make him secure enough.

It was made clear with Saturday’s episode, where Raghav took, literally, his first step towards her and it was actually a huge leap! It goes so well with Raghav’s character that he won’t hold back once he knows for sure. He somewhat knew she feels for him as well, still there’s a bit of hesitancy- like is she at the same level yet? All through it he was trying to gauge her comfort level with him.

Sure he did lose himself for a bit when he leaned in for the kiss, yet giving her enough space.

@blue: Even I have felt all along that his feelings for Pallavi are far deeper than hers. But the way she put herself in words today to Raghav and yesterday to Krishna, I am sure she’s almost there too, catching up with him.

2. I totally agree with what you said. That towel scene was them stepping into the new phase and Raghav finally having that smiles of genuine contentment that the tide had indeed turned for him, enjoying her company and truly accepting that he did have the right to happiness. For me, it wasn't just him realizing that Pallavi had given him this special place in her heart by loving him, but also the beginning of Raghav starting to love himself and feel that he too deserves to be happy, to have this one thing that's unconditional and is just for himself. This has only worked because he's starting to learn to forgive himself, something he's been battling for years. It's more than just his feeling of guilt towards Pallavi or what happened to his family before. It's about him finally starting to accept that he is a good man and he deserves a second chance in life just like others do, and that he need not be afraid to reach out to fully embrace the beautiful gift life has given him.

I used to say that Raghav started off this marriage focusing on the roles and responsibilities of a husband, and then the trust, friendship, love. This is why the foundation of their marriage is strong and will continue to get stronger as they fight against the world together. In other shows, we typically get the love and romance but the other aspects of the relationship don't get much attention, so all it takes is a small breeze to knock it over. I am so glad we're not seeing this in their relationship because it makes it feel so natural as things develop organically. This is how things often happen in an arranged marriage as a couple gets to know one another and strengthens their marital bond through trials and tribulations.

1. You made a good point here. Raghav has always been hands-off and though we joke about it, they have explicitly made it so that he never really touches her unnecessarily since the beginning of the show. Rather she's been the one who hasn't held back in this regard.

Him literally and figuratively taking a step towards her, without provocation or practical necessity, really stood out because this time he did it for himself, to give himself a chance. I just love the way he looks into her eyes and tries to read everything she says and, more importantly, everything she doesn't.

@blue

I do hope she catches up at some point because while I expect his feelings to be intense and for him to display them at a level befitting his personality, I think he'll be concerned not to let his fire consume her if she's not ready. He's done a lot of things for her covertly and she knows it but they have largely been related to supporting her in difficult times. I want to see him making her feel special and the center of his universe because that's where I see this relationship heading if all goes well. We've seen how crazy he is about his family and it's only a matter of time before Pallavi receives that kind of crazy love day in day out too.

This topic is close to my heart and I'm going to be writing more about it in the coming days.

To be honest, I still feel it's a bit too soon in the story for all this to be happening and sometimes the execution feels off, but I will go with the flow too and see what happens to this couple.
