Umm.... she got successful because she was professional, hardworking, energetic, danced well and groomed herself over the years.

Karishma Kapoor is a good example of ugly duckling turning into a beautiful swan. After her jaws/ lips/nose plastic surgery she turned into a beauty.

Then she focused on her dancing and chemistry with Govinda, and she got hits. Then she improved her acting skills and took roles that suited her. And she survived.

She looks like man but she used that to her advantage by playing the 'bold' characters well . She was versatile. She could play the sexy city girl and the traditional abla naari with the same ease She had a sexy voice which was a hit with the male audiences. Danced well. Confidence was a game changer for her.

But ofcourse her last name helped; That she was Raj Kapoors grandaughter.
