Yes... this is the problem with PS makers- they stewed with the DevTa, ShiVi marriage- that made sense. Then they stewed with the Kesar/Batwara kaand. I think after that backlash they have decided to never stretch any matter more than a week tops.

I will never be able to forgive them for the Kangan kaand- such an emotionally fraught situation, with buildup for almost the whole of PS existance itself, and they wrapped it up within a week

They seem to be doing the same woth these other tracks- which is a major disservice to themselves and the show. I enjoy the episode wise performance, but somehow the whole track never quiet leaves the impression that the marriage track does 😕

Blv it or not OG is extremely slow as its regional show. But when show becomes national, they have to think larger audience. Certain tracks won't be shocking for national audience like this Gaura sacrifice. I think its good they didn't make such hype.

Here, characters and story modified by keeping the type of audience in mind.

If they completely copy OG , I would have never watched Pandya store because I dont have that much time and patience.

P.S; I am glad they didn't show single-bed for Shivi on this version.

I completely understand your point, and I too used to feel I had less patience( I have mostly grow up on Hindi serials).

But believe me, the impact of the story is completely lost in this version. The national audience is definitely missing out on the good stuff 😐

Dunno why it gives me the feeling they can end soon. It's like if they have to, at a drop of the hat, they can just wrap up the show with a YKB and say the family lived happily ever after 😕

The OG had simple issues too but they were well spaced out. And they were stretched out appropriately- there was a beginning, middle and end. It wasn't this rushed.

Let's see what the makers have in mind 🙁

I know there was some mention of SP axing a few shows due to low TRPs, but I don't think Pandya Store needs to worry about any of that.

The Telugu remake went fast too. Whatever was covered in 100 episodes in the OG was covered within 80 episodes, and I think that was all largely due to CVs trimming a few scenes to please the regional audience or because they felt the emotions were adequately portrayed (each actor acts differently, so the same scene can be timed differently depending on how the actor wants the scene). I think the pacing issues here stem from the fact of the script writers picking up scenes in mix-matched order.

Since ShiVi are not reunited, there was no chance of Raavi being the first to learn about the pregnancy issues, which is how they jumped directly into Shiva and Dev both knowing at the same time. Honestly, this type of truth should've been revealed separately. Each character could've had dedicated screen time to emote and have a monologue of how they feel. By having them both together, the characters had less dedicated space, and the monologue would be tricky to shoot.

I guess I am most interested in seeing how Raavi and Rishita find out. Dev will probably tell Rishita the news without a problem, but now that Shiva and Raavi are not in the best of terms, poor Raavi may be the last one to find out 😔

Also, CVs jumbled the story so much that I don't know what to expect after Dhara's pregnancy track...

Was watching episode glimpses online & in the background indian idol was going on with soulful :

Jag ne chheena mujhse, Mujhe jo bhi laga pyaara

Sab jeeta kiye mujhse, Main har dam hi haara

Both Raavi & Shiva are in this whirlwind... They both have lost some things, both have unconditionally agreed for family and the circumstances have juxtaposed in a way that everything feels lost! They both are sensitive in different ways... now the merging of paths & adjusting to realities start.

in a way Gautam & Dhara are in the same whirlwind as well... Sab kar ke bhi, a lot is missing...

Life sometimes puts you through strange struggles!

What a lovely episode! Touched my heart, every step of the way!

Felt Shiva's hurt, felt Raavi's anxiety & hurt at Shiva's reactions. Their next step of saptapadi now begins... next step will take long but will wait for: Tum haarke dil apna, Meri jeet amar kar do....

Oh Gaumbi! His pain, mental stress, financial & social stress is taking toll. Glad tomorrow he gets to tell brothers about the finances. This is one thing Gaura now need to make a habit- financial responsibility-sharing!.

So far, In ITV shows, they always show nasty tauntfest for FL on issue of child. most they resort to 2nd shadi- dahiwali way. The first time saw ML getting poked.. an issue our society never tackles. The manpoke! Much common & nasty than we realize.

Kinshuk portrayed Gautam's pain so well today.

Shiva & Dev hearing GauRa's talks & realizing reality, well-done scene. Dev is at his best when with Shiva. Shiva's sensitivities are always in 100% form for GauRa.

all 3 couples have different challenges on the next step of their life, I am looking forward to this rolling upheaval stage of their lives.

I made a post about it as soon as the LU of the episode was over. I am glad PS team had the courage to show it. All along we talked about Dhara's sacrifices, taunts and so on, I sympathize with her fully , but today we saw how Gautam was equally affected by all of it and more so the pressure/ stress of running a joint family. business and has been working non-stop for 10 years without any break, I am surprised he is not burned out yet. I really felt for Gautam today😕

It is time for Shiva and Dev to step in and take more responsibilities.

I just wrote the samething. it was good of PS team to show this.

I also would have liked a little more build up for Shiva's breakdown. Him getting drunk just because Raavi's friend said those words didn't really create as much of an impact in me as I would have liked

The scene itself was very well done and KD was amazing, but something was lost in the build up and background, as is often the case with PS 😕

@bold, same! A part of me is unconvinced that he would do something like that. He was introduced as someone who didn't care about what others said. Plus, he's heard those taunts in the past, they weren't new taunts by any means (as much as I hate to say it). I don't know if the haveli track messed up the storyline for the CVs so they are now trying to do some damage control... or whether the CVs prefer the show to be lighter, instead of emotional like the OG.

Considering how they've taken the scenes out of order, I wish there was no breakdown scene here. It didn't make sense. Or, if they really wanted a breakdown scene, I wish they changed the scene entirely. I think it would've been more powerful if Shiva overheard Raavi and her friend talking about him (without them knowing he was there). After hearing what the friend had to say, Shiva expected Raavi to quickly defend him, but when he hears nothing, he leaves, realizing that despite all the time they spent together, he wasn't able to make an impact on her at all. Meanwhile, Raavi takes time to respond to her friend because she wanted to properly tell her friend off for insulting her husband.

I think it would've made more sense since Shiva's breakdown would've been intimately tied to Raavi thoughts of him instead of the friend's thoughts of him.
