Chapter 2

Pallavi dropped the call but a barrage of thoughts were still buzzing in her head. A thoughtful decision was made. It had the backing of well-planned and most logical of thoughts but lacked inputs from one thing, feelings. The mind decided without the say of the heart. Thoughts were there without feelings. Liberation comes from heart but burden has home in mind. It became visible as her persona subdued and she started walking in trance. The chaos was visible. It had always been visible. The silence was the one being looked for. Her steps were moving without destination as she opened the door and moved out still lost in the conflict of her thoughts and feelings. A dilemma as old as time but it was utterly new to her. She prepared for everything but no one is ever prepared for accidents. She lost the surroundings and her existence got constrained to her thoughts.

It’s decided. I need to plan how to execute the decision. I can just walk out without any second thought. Anyhow who can stop me? Yes I should pack my bags and will leave immediately. Already have wasted a lot of time. Yes that makes most sense. But what will I say if Raghav saw me. What to say. I am not answerable to him. I am answerable to no one. I will just walk out without saying anything. He cannot stop me anyhow. But will he stop me? Why… why would he stop me and how does it matter. It’s not the plan. It was never the plan. So it doesn’t matter. But what if he ask me to stop. If he asks should I stop? No… I need to go. If he asks I will just move out. Anyhow it doesn’t matter if he is hurt or not. He is no one. But then I can leave in middle of the night too… right? When he will be asleep and it won’t hurt him to watch me leave. Hurt him? Are you an idiot Sana? It doesn’t matter. Let him be sad. I will leave. So it’s decided. I will leave tonight when he is asleep. It makes sense so that he… I… I will not face any useless stoppage. So it’s decided.

Thoughts with constrained existence kept swirling as she kept walking to oblivion. Her walk kept going unaware of the fact that she has reached to the edge of stairs and with the next step her body felt a jerk bringing her back to world of consciousness. The loss of balance and the sight of long stairs made her mind aware to the path it was heading to. Her eyes closed with her mind unable to face consequences of its act. Her mind gave up but her heart can’t. A strong grip held on her arm and pulled it towards a standing mountain. Her elements met his and the next second her heart embraced the feels, rejecting the fear. She didn’t needed to open her eyes to know where she was as the mere presence of him in her arms and his breath in her ears was enough to introduce her to him. She kept embracing him tightly with her head resting on his shoulder and her palm feeling his beats. She was fine. She was content. She had her life. The moment was complete.

R – Have you lost your mind? What were you thinking? You would have fallen down the stairs. What I would have done if something hap…are... are you alright? You are alright?

His voice was furious. His sound had worry. But his demeanor maintained calmness. He had ran through emotion switches in the mere completion of a sentence. And in the end, the eyes became firm and look became calm. He held her by her arms to put some distance between them and looked into her eyes still holding her. His face showed worry. His face showed pain. His face showed anger. But his eyes were blank. The void was visible in his eyes. The emptiness sometimes engulf the emotions.

R – You know I can’t live without you. You are the reason I feel alive. You are tensed, I know because of all the things related to your Ex-husband. I know you were thinking about him and that is why this happened but you need to be careful. You need to take care of yourself. I know you never had anyone to take care of you. You never had anything to live for except your principles. I know coming here wasn’t planned and it happened. But I want you here. I want you here and I need you here. So I can’t let you go. I won’t let you go.

Voices of empty shells hitting ground were apparent to a pair of eyes. Pallavi saw him. She heard him. She heard his words and she saw his face. His words were dipped in concern. His face was portraying his pain. But his eyes were quiet and her heart sank at that moment. She felt something breaking inside her and her anger seized its place in her eyes. Her voice needed escape to release fury. But her questions were halted by another set of noises.

VD – Raghav Rao… Raghav Rao… come down. Come here right now.

Both Pallavi and Raghav broke out of the moment and walked downstairs to the screeching voice coming from the hall. A look at the hall where Vijay Deshmukh was standing puzzled both of them. His face was beaming with smile and it made them more confused as he actually looked happy. Raghav voiced out to clear the suspense.

R – Vijay Deshmukh… how are you here today? And how come you look so happy?

VD – Because I am happy today. Finally I will defeat you. Today I will finally take back what is mine from you and you can’t do anything about it. All your planning and money can’t stop me today. I will defeat you.

Raghav already felt his patience being tested and thundered.

R – Vijay Deshmukh… have you lost your mind? Why are you talking absurd? Come straight to the point. What you want and why have you come here?

VD – I am here to take back my daughter-in-law to my home and today even you can’t stop me.

A surprised look graced both Raghav and Pallavi’s faces as they looked at each other. A question in his eyes and a fear in hers. A furious Raghav turned back to Vijay Deshmukh as Pallavi kept on staring at him.

R – Sanki Budhee… You have gone mad. She is Pallavi Raghav Rao and no one can separate her from me. She is my legal wife. So get lost or I will throw you out. Ardhamainda.

Fire rained from Raghav’s eyes while Vijay Deshmukh had a grin dancing on his face as he spoke.

VD – No. She is not Pallavi Raghav Rao. She is Pallavi Deshmukh, my daughter-in-law. And she will go with me to my home. She is not your wife. She is my son’s wife and I will drag you to jail for marrying a married woman. So you can’t stop me today. I have brought police also as I knew you won’t stop your insanity. But before that, let me give you a surprise. Mandar… come in.

Pallavi or Sana battling with her emotions about leaving Raghav and eventually loosing her balance was portrayed well.

Raghav's in pain and sanki VD and Mandaar drama ahead. Why do I feel that Mandaar is related to Sana in some way?
