But if you are just looking for understanding the character, she’s not a bad person at heart as we had witnessed earlier. The thing is she has always felt that her life is somewhat ‘controlled’ by Raghav and Amma. Raghav had his men guarding her 24*7 and I also remember amma going like keerti ki life me aisa kuch nhi hai, wo aisa kuch nhi karega” whenever Raghav mentioned Akash (the lightbulb guy) to amma. I always used to find it weird that why someone as cool as Amma Rao would imply as if her daughter dating someone is wrong. There keerti must have felt moral obligations at her. And she has even kept herself in those boundaries but never felt too good about it,

Then enters sunny, who is complete opposite of a gentleman and actually becomes keerti’s way of revolting. Now if sunny had been somewhat of a sane person- he would have helped her deal with those emotions in a healthy manner. But sunny is a manipulative bitch, they clearly have a toxic relationship where he wants to control her now he does, how- emotional manipulation and by distancing her from her family further, always badmouthing them. Like he instigated her against Pallavi and always taunted her about Raghav’s money.

I have seen such people in my life, they manipulate you so smoothly you don’t even get know. They are kind of narcissists/sociopaths who want you all to themselves. Then you do tend to spoiled your relationship with everyone else, especially when somebody is questioning this said narcissist in your life. Only to realise later.

I completely agree with you. This is why I've been so conflicted over her- at the end of the day, she is most certainly a woman who is the victim of an abusive partner. I've spoken before why that's a matter close to my heart, so I understand why she acts the way she does. She's been gaslit by this smooth operating, misogynistic, repulsive asshole for two years, she's in deep. Calling her dumb for not seeing through it feels an awful lot like victim blaming, which is something I've been complaining about for weeks here.

She's had a terrible life- father and brother killed in extremely traumatic ways, other brother estranged, mom spewing constant venom at last living relative, the financial burden of providing for an old, ailing mother- she'd have been barely 14 when the mob incident happened, and her life turned upside down, and it's a miserable world for 2 single women to live alone in. Plus, Raghav has been stifling her with his overprotectiveness, and has crossed lines time and time again. It was inappropriate to send Harish after her, inappropriate to beat up Akash, inappropriate beyond belief to try to pay Sunny off. I understand why Sunny was the perfect escape.

I am deeply sympathetic towards her for the way Sunny treats her. It infuriates me that this bright, capable, young woman can have her boyfriend tell her 'tu hoor pari nahi hai, teri jaisi chattis aayengi aur chattis jaayengi' and still stay with him. Mera dil jalta hai, to see her smiling and blushing after he yells at her anf calls her worthless and useless. But I get it. When I see those scenes, I don't get angry at her, my heart shatters for her, and I hope that she gets the help, support and therapy she needs to break out of this.

But, ultimately, she's also an adult, who does need to be held accountable for her actions.

I have never liked TV shows justifying abusive MLs by giving them a dark traumatic past, a trope all of us have seen again and again- same rules apply. Mental health is not an excuse to be despicable, and in the last couple of weeks, Kirti has been vile. Sunny may have turned her against Pallavi, but her words were her own- calling Pallavi 'ehsaan faramosh', telling Sunny to 'handle' her, leveraging her brother's love to let him take the fall for Sunny, trying to frame Farhad, the absolutely disgusting things she's said to Pallavi today- blaming her for Mandaar's death, and Raghav's injury. Not only is she remorseless about a man's death, she is taunting his widow about how she's going to get away with it. Doing all this, it's her choice.

So, a sentence that I've said time and again for Raghav, applies to his sister too- the behaviour, it makes sense and is understandable, but it's not justifiable. She has made her choices, and bad ones, and choices have consequences. She needs to face the music, in the form of coldness from her mother and Pallavi, and frankly, Farhad would be well within his right to never speak. to her again.

I don't want all her mistakes to be brushed aside as 'Sunny's fault', so yes, I want consequences for her- but ultimately, yes, I hope the consequences she faces are rehabilitative and not punitive.

I understand what you are saying. Like I said, I wasn't judging her blind love for Sunny and her aggressiveness towards anyone who wanted to separate him from her. It was frustrating to watch, but I could understand the situation and hope for her to return eventually.

My complaint is the way she's been acting about the Mandaar case. The way she doesn't feel an ouce of remorse about literally being responsible for a person's death.... I can't see her redeeming herself after this. How could she act so high and mighty towards Raghav and keep calling him a murderer, when she and her beloved Sunny were guilty of such a crime? How did her mouth even open? How could the incident not have any impact on her — not then, not now? Raghav was an innocent 10-year-old who had no idea about the consequences of his actions. But these two were grownups who knew exactly what they were doing. I see hit and run as nothing different from a cold-blooded murder. No matter how much a toxic person influences you, your conscience always speaks your own voice. I'm so disappointed to see her lack of guilt.

Even if I were to understand her wanting to protect Sunny, I just can't understand her willing to throw Farhad under the bus — and even Raghav! Khudka balidaan chadhati to samajh leti main, but she has no intention of taking any blame. She just wants to live happily with Sunny while someone else suffers the consequences of their actions. This is highly selfish and I'd say, at this point, she is just as toxic a person as Sunny.

Brilliant, Ashi. You have summed it up so well, everything I missed to mention, keerti losing her family at an early age, probably dealing with an emotionally distant mother who was busy with her own sulking about the past. And sunny is a definition of an abusive partner, someone who might seem very easygoing and rather charming when you meet them but living with them is whole another story!

@bold- loved this sentence. Such a huge life lesson in such simple words.

clearly keerti should be held responsible for her actions. Sunny might be the reason she’s being super defensive but words and actions are her own. I am sure she will realise!

Again, sickand 👏 such close to real life stories. I am sure there goes at least some amount of research into writing all these characters.

Clearly all these things can’t be excused. She has been extremely selfish in past few episodes. Sch me, throwing someone else under the bus is not understandable 😒
