When a guy asks for permission it does something to d girl. Very subtly shown. It shows d value she holds in his life. Agar wo ok hai to hi hum aage badhane. It says a lot.
Only a man with high moral conduct n pure love can do it. He didn't get carried away with d emotions n ambience. He took it upon himself to make sure she s there with him with her wish and not some sense of obligation.

Sad but true. Saalon ke ITV ki seekh ka natija hai. We r so used to seeing those things ye sab hume bakwas lagta hai.
