Today we got an insight as to why BS is ghode pe sawaar on announcing to the world that Imlie is his wife. Why he wants to push his family into accepting Imlie, despite the situations around their marriage.
The episode starts at Imli'e college where Aditya was explaining to Imlie that with all that is happening at home, it should not have an impact on her studies, as he will not be able to forgive himself if that happens. Imlie quips that as woh daant khaat hai, sabko daant pilawat bhi hai and questions if he does the same at office as well😆. That gets out a small smile from Adi, while Imlie uses that as an opportunity to explain to him that maybe coming out as husband & wife right now may not be a good idea and they need to give them some time. Adi makes her understand that if they hide now, we will be justifying our family's galat soch. If we back down now, we will never be able to get that respect again, so they need to attend Pallavi's mooh dikhayi function together. Imlie reminds him that it is Pallavi's mooh dikhayi, not hers, to which Adi decides to do her "Mooh Dikhayi" her in college itself.
Adi goes around her college telling everyone that he is AKT & she is his wife. Sab ko pakad pakad ke usse introduce kara raha tha that she is his wife & she comes from PD. Imlie tries to stop him, and he quips that he learnt this from her only. Imlie ke purane saari harkatein are now coming back to haunt her, where dono maa-beta are using her examples to prove a point. She relents to go as husband & wife after he threatens to come everyday to her college and do nautanki like this, as he now really wants to nibhao this rishta khulkar aur sabke saamne.
In the meanwhile, like a typical ITV saasuma, Aparna manipulates Malini to come to the function as her bahu. Malini initially tries to resist, thinking of the promise she made just a while ago, but then Aparna chalaoes the magic wand and tells her that Adi wants Malini to come, which makes Malini relent. Then she herself thinks why she puts herself in the middle of Adi & Imlie evrytime. Ab ke fayda, jab chidiya chug gayi khet. Yahaan Aparna also feels bad that she lied, but justifies it to herself that to show Imlie her "sahi jagah", she needs to utilize Malini's presence to prove her point.
Function ki tayaari is in full swing and is being supervised by Sundar. Radhaji gets impressed and appreciates his work, where Imlie comes there asking if she can help. Here unwittingly Radhaji tells her that she is not a naukrani of this house and does not get salary, so she need not do anything. Imlie tries to reason with her and asks her if she can help, as she really wants to do something. Radhaji, smartly uses that as an opportunity to tell her to not come to the function as anything other than a naukrani, as she wants the function to go well.
The tailor (I assume) comes to the house getting matching color clothes for everyone for the function. (Who does that😳). The tailor shows them the last dress which was ordered to be completed in 24 hours and had been requested to be don with a special zari for which he had to go to purani dilli. Aparna tells him that she does not want that suit anymore, she will pay for it, but then he could keep it, burn it or throw it away. Rupi correctly guesses that the suit is for Imlie, but Aparna says that it was made for someone who is no longer family, while Imlie looks on.
KC goes to Malini's house and finds out that Malini has gone to her sasural, despite having promised him that she won't go. AC asks KC to speed up the divorce proceedings, if required get a date the same day (She really has my heart this eternal Adilie shipper - Hail Anu!). KC explains that courts do not work that way, and getting a quick date will not help if the parties taking the divorce do not want to (How well he has recognized DD in such a short time😆).
At the T'house, Aparna gives her a matching color saree, as she is ghar ki bahu. Malini tries to explain that she needs to accept that Adi & her can never be together and that they are getting divorced. Aparna explains that she needs Malini to show everything is hunky dory, as right now no one knows about their divorce and she is not willing to let everyone know yet that Imlie is her bahu, as she has not accepted her. Matlab full showbaazi karne ki planning chal rahi thi between ex bahu & sasuma.
Then we get to the best scene of the episode, which gave the reason why Adi is hell bent on announcing to the world that Imlie is his wife, despite them being in the wrong for hiding the truth for 8 months. Adi comes to find Imlie and sees that she is not yet ready for the function. When he asks her about it, she tries to lie that she has a sociology assignment to submit the next day, so she cannot go for the function. Adi catches on to her lie and exposes it by saying that he will call her professor(last ke baad number save kiya hoga😆) and tell him that since ghar mein function hai, she will submit the assignment a day later (Patrakar hai, he knows exactly how to get the truth out of anyone, specially his Imeliya😆). She gets worried and bluts the truth that she right now does not want to out like this and spoil the function. She is worried that her going out will make the elders embarrassed and pull all the attention towards her rather than the bride and pura function kharab ho jayega, making Pallavi feel bad.
Adi explains that Pallavi will not feel bad as Imlie was the reason Nisahnt & Pallavi got married, where Imlie quips that the marriage happened with the elders blessings. Adi then takes this opportunity to explain the reasoning behind him fighting like this. He tells her that if his elders had been mad at him for hiding the truth, then he would have given them all the time they needed to forgive them and accept this relationship. But here the issue is that they are mad because she is apparently a "naukrani", which is what is bothering him. The elders are being more considerate to outsiders who will come for a moment, say things and go back to their home, forgetting it the next moment. They are giving weightage to society's opinion, rather than understand their son's reasoning and accept his choice as a person, not her status. The fight that he had been fighting outside with the world has now become personal and now he does not want that "gandi soch" to grow in his own home. He begs her to understand his point of view and support him in this fight, to which she understand and agrees, albeit with a heavy heart.
The function is in full swing, where Aparna's society friends come to wish the new bride. Aparna asks about another friend and finds out that her daughter has run away with the driver. (Big deal, but yeah). This becomes an entire rant on how parents are not able to give sanskaar to their kids to make "right" choices, which leads to embarrassment for their parents. Phir jis ghar mein aayi hai, unhi ki burai karte hue they comment that seeing Rupi's state over the years & the rumors that Adi is going through a divorce shows that marriages do not last long in the T'house and start making bets on how long Nishu & Pallo marriage will last. There Aparna uses that opportunity to introduce Malini & say that all is fine in her son's grahasti. Rupi di tries to reason with Aparna, but she is on her own trip to show that all is hunky dory in her family. She does not know that thodi hi der mein her son is going to blow that facade to smithereens and she is going to be left holding on to the pieces of her ego and societal conditioning.
Well the precap gives a glipmse of the SBS segment we got yesterday, so looks like tomorrow we will get the episode with the detail view of the remaining tamasha of the T family. God bless them to manage this hurricane named AKT.
