ShiVi Drabble- Unsaid Acceptance
Shiva had heard from the neighbourhood how Raavi had roared on Sneha. She broke off with her childhood friend because of him. He still could not get it out of his mind that he and her were very different. Everyone thought he did not deserve her and he like a fool had fallen in love with her.
He was aware Raavi had accepted their relationship. She had consoled him for days over this issue. However, he was unable to get Sneha’s words out of his mind. She spoke for him because she’s married to him he thought. Who was he kidding he knew his chipkali would never stand up for something she did not believe in.
Raavi entered the store and sat beside Shiva intertwining her pinky finger with his. He looked up to her confused. She had been doing this lately. He had found her staring at him, trying to get close to him, doing the exact things he was doing subconsciously few days back. He did not dare believe she was falling for him too. He cannot handle another heartbreak.
“Shiva?”
“Hmm?”
“Hum saath honge toh sab theek ho jayega”
“Shayad”
“Tu saath dega na?”
Shiva looked at her, desperation in her eyes he wondered why.
“Aur koi option hai kya?”
“Nahi” she smiled and placed her head on his shoulder not caring about the people watching them
Shiva tried to move her but her grip was too strong. She had caught on to him as her life depended on it. Little did she know he was also wanting to hold onto her the same way.
“Shiva.. Kuch dino se muje bhi kuch ajeeb lag raha hai.”
They looked the each at the same time registering the meaning of the statement. Shiva knew what his ajeeb feelings were but did not have it in him to assume anything from Raavi’s side. He nodded at her unable to say anything and let her cling to him. Raavi’s grip went tighter on him smiling widely. She knew her bhoothnath, she wasn’t expecting any answer from him.
